Lemme know if you're selling day passes to your world because it genuinely seems lovely Glinda.

I’m not saying everything she does is perfect, but people here put too much emphasis on what she does on Instagram. Most people just scroll on by and don’t even remember posts. It’s just people on here who analyze everything.
And when was the last time you say a celebrity posing with 50 or 60 year old models in a photo shoot? I’d like to see a link to one of those.

    Did anyone try the Twitter?

I thought the twitter was horrendous.

Replies under Cher and Dolly are largely positive.

Madonnas are repugnant she definitely evokes a different kind of reaction from her fanbase, old fanbase and the general public. The most recurring theme and most of the vitriol is from casuals who used to love and respect her. No greater critic than an ex they say.

    Its sad.

That’s not what I see. People troll every female celebrity on Twitter. Don’t take it seriously.

Because of the way she does it. The biggest pop girls like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and fellow legends like Mariah Carey have all stepped up and used Instagram (and Twitter) as a business tool to market themselves and their careers appropriately.

Notice how when Madonna posts something that is actually visually interesting or provocative, and not butchered by Ricardo's editing, she can get up to 1m likes. Instead her go-to is the same old Facetune filter on mediocre outfit-of-the-day pics, or posting awful fan edits, or posting her children.

If she managed her Instagram properly (with a competent team), I'm not saying she would magically appear on the charts, but the Frozen remixes and Material Gworl wouldn't be the non-events they are today. Mariah jumping on Big Energy felt more significant than anything Madonna has tried since launching Madame X in 2019, and I haven't even listened to it.

The mystery and god-like aura she exuded up until 2012-2014 was slowly undone by her endless oversharing and marketing herself in a pedestrian light. It's like she doesn't view herself as a queen anymore.

How do you expect remixes of old songs to be this big thing? No matter what she did on social media those wouldn’t be gigantic hits. Frozen increased her streams a lot.

I cant even believe this is a real question? Are you being willfully obtuse? Have you missed all the threads even in this forum about her over edited pictures, the dumb unfiltered things she has said, the bathtub, Fried fucking fish, even her best friends calling her out of stuff.

Yes every major artist uses social media. but not everyone uses it like Madonna. It's become a point of ridicule for her for the most part and has been largely toxic to her brand sadly.

On this forum. People who frequent this forum are different from the general public. You don’t think other artists filter their pictures and say dumb things on Twitter?

Hot take: They didn't abandon her. She abandoned them. Take a look at that Paper spread. Everyone around her is diverse in many ways except one. Age.

Imagine that spread with her being surrounded by the gay men in their 50's who worshipped her all those years. I would love it. But I think she'd rather die.

Other artists from the 80s don’t do photo shoots with people their own age either.

  6. Madonna tries to be very creative with her tours which I greatly appreciate. But the general public isn’t like me. They like predictability. Look at all the older artists who tour year after year playing the same obvious singles with maybe 3 to 4 new songs and maybe a cover. People eat that up. I personally don’t get it. Why do people want to see almost the same set list on multiple tours? But that type of thing has been very successful in larger venues for artists especially from the 80s and 90s.

you are correct. that’s the impression i get from different people in different age groups as well.

that is also why i don’t think she really is a candidate for a biopic nor that it would be a better choice than a tour of whatever extent at this point in time... maybe later down the line.

Where are you getting that people are saying she should go away? From trolls who post in comment sections? The general public doesn’t pay that much attention to her Instagram. As far as they are concerned she has gone away because they haven’t heard a new Madonna song on the radio in a long time.

I don´t believe she will perform in big stages again. I think Madame X Theather Tour was a pre-announcement and/or a test for a residency, what must happen at the same time of the release of the biopic.

I don’t think that’s true. It’s just something she wanted to do to highlight the album because it was based on living room sessions in Lisbon.
She can definitely play on big stages again. She just has to do more older songs and hits and not as much new material.
Many other older artists do arenas and even stadiums and they have far less recent and fewer hits than Madonna.

I’d rather have her memoirs. Screw the movie. Publish a book and do a tour or something.

The more I think about it I agree. That way she wouldn’t have to leave things out and edit it down. The main problem with the script seems to be fitting everything in. She wouldn’t have that problem with a book.

Have you been to one of her tours? The majority of her hits are remixed. She doesn’t like do the originals. She finds it boring.

They are slightly different but not that different most of the time. They aren’t all dance remixes like the album.

No Glumda. I said future of live experience in a "new medium"

Much like VR headsets are new for film and TV and Gaming rooms. The live format will always exist. but things can evolve along side

If you and your friends love an artist and they can't or don't perform anymore and you go and see them in this new format together and relive those memories THAT is the human to human experience, with other fans.

Have you been to the ABBA show?

No, I’m not an Abba fan. If an artist I like doesn’t perform anymore I just watch their old performances for free on YouTube.

  12. 8 minutes ago, steady75 said:

Just do the ABBA thing as a greatest hits tour. Agnetta and Frida could come out and join her for Hung Up.

Honestly I'd so be here for this the ABBA show is incredible. Imagine being able to go and experience the Blond Ambition or Virgin Tour live again in prestine format. These are the things she should absolutely be doing now because it's the future of live experience in a new medium.

She's already tapped into it with the Insta filters and NFT thing.

Being in the arena as the mechanical sounds start and then the beat kicks in, lights up and DANCE AND SING GET UP AND DO YOUR THING!!!!

The future of live music is not having the artist there?
If you want perfection and pristine, stay home and listen to your vinyl.
To me what makes live concerts interesting is the human element which includes unpredictability and imperfections and connecting with the audience on a human level.

Sorry but I still think this is just an old interview from 2005/2006 and spliced up no doubt just to get promotion for FEL - not getting excited about anything new from either of them

Song Exploder is a very popular podcast hosted by this guy Hrishikesh Hirway, who is also a musical artist. All their episodes are new and exclusive to them. I can’t see them taking old interviews done by someone else. If she can get together with Nile Rodgers to do a new interview, I can’t see why she couldn’t also do one with Stuart.

  14. Maybe she doesn’t do red hair a lot because it clashes with her skin tone. I never thought she looked good with red hair. She has cool undertones to her skin and eyes. Red hair looks better with warm skin and eye tones. Blonde and pink are way more flattering on her.
I don’t see the point of changing just for the sake of changing if what you are changing to doesn’t look good.

I am unbelievably annoyed that she hasn't said anything about Olivia Newton John. 🙁

I know Madonna is in there somewhere but on the surface I can not relate to her anymore. I don't think her Instagram posts are attractive or even interesting.

I am a fan of her because the substance is always there no matter the appearance. She is more than trendy social media poses and outfits.

It was on her Instagram stories. She posted a video of them together.

NYC theater residency. She gets to be at home with her kids and get as much rest as possible. She can switch up setlist. Bring in guests. Let everyone else do Vegas. She gets the Big Apple.

I know everyone is going to say they want a typical world tour with stadiums and that's fine, but I also don't want her to fall apart.

A theater residency would be harder since there would be a lot of dates in a row.
A stadium tour would actually be easier because you only do one date in each city with days off in between.
That’s what Lady Gaga is doing with her health issues.

She doesn’t say that at all.

Yes, it changed but didn’t deteriorated. She was focusing more on her family as well so maybe she was fine with him working on other things. They are still close friends.
