  1. It makes me sigh because you've missed 100% of my original comment. Its a dead-end opinion. Please, I am not stopping you from having it. =) Carry on. But..... But know, it carries zero weight in the real world. Fans do not dictate choice of any artist's manager. Guy is slaying it in reality. Britney Spears, U2, Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Blidge, Amy Schumer.... the list goes on. But he's complacent somehow. I will say, I am happy we can discuss this peacefully. =) But Guy ain't going no where. And there isn't anyone really qualified to do what he does with Madonna at present.
  2. this is what Guy is in charge of. Does not look complacent to me or to most. http://maverick.com
  3. (sigh) my point is, don't hold your breathe. Ergo.... why keep calling for it when its never going to happen? Guy will be part of the next incarnation. I'm sure we'll love it and all will be fine.
  4. I don't think you have a grasp on the concept of how intricately entwined Guy is to Madonna. The public feels he's disposable. He's not.
  5. Ok, this might sting a little..... and I mean no ill-will its just time to think logically. Can we all just grow up and stop calling for Madonna to change her mgmt? Think about it in reverse.... What if people said you needed a new mother/father/mentor. It ain't gonna happen. Guy has been around and proven himself to Madonna, thats his only job. Not to prove himself to us. He's well revered in the music and tech biz and major artists are flocking to him. Why would she change? its a tired comment.
  6. I don't think we have any reason to fear Madonna will repeat herself. She's pretty consistent about evolving. Certain themes will always be on repeat, but sound, look, concept will always be dynamic. So much in the world is wrong. Similar to Kathy Griffin, Madonna has been at the forefront of the hate in this world. I have no doubt that the theme of Revolution of Love will continue on into the next studio album. Hell, she could call the next album Revolution of Love and we'd all love it (before its released) and buy it. My opinion: I think the demo leak and overall good feedback from Rebel Heart and the easiness of her demeanor throughout the Rebel Heart Tour has been a really positive thing for her. I think the next album even if very politically charged, can be beautiful and impactful **depending** on the way the its designed. Ray Of Light was filled with tons of positive messaging but packaged in a way that was not threatening. Similar to Confessions immediately after American Life... Confessions had a lot of messaging but was packaged as to not focus on it.... but its there.
  7. i think Pharrell *can* make the world's best pop song.... he just hasn't done that with Madonna yet. He's done some great ones from hard Candy, but the demos for Rebel Heart were very questionable.
  8. 100% agree with you. I think its questionable that Hard Candy, MDNA & Rebel Heart were concept albums like Confessions or Ray Of Light. I love Rebel Heart for what it is but I do miss Madonna picking a lane and staying in it like confessions and ROL. I think those choices to be more laser focused resulted in longer lasting remembrance of those era's vs. non-traditional concept albums or more potpourri sound albums.
  9. I knew this was happening even when some were saying it was fake news.... I am happy for Madonna and the two girls Stella and Esther. Madonna has adopted twin girls from Malawi, according to government officials. The singer, who had previously denied she was visiting the country with a view to adopting more children, was given permission by the Malawian high court on Tuesday to adopt the four-year-olds Stella and Esther. Mlenga Mvula, a judicial spokesman, said: “I can confirm that Madonna has been granted an adoption order for two children.†Madonna has previously adopted two children from Malawi, David Banda in 2006 and Mercy James in 2009. The twins are being adopted from the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji, near the western border with Zambia, where David Banda once lived. But many in Malawi have accused the government of giving the singer a special exception to laws that prevent non-residents from adopting children to take abroad. With Madonna and the girls’ birth father present in the courtroom in Lilongwe, a judge ruled in her favour. But the adoption is conditional on Madonna proving she will provide a suitable home. Dominic Misomale, a government-appointed guardian, will travel with Madonna, Stella and Esther to the US and observe how she looks after them, before reporting back to the government. Titus Mvalo, a lawyer for Madonna in Malawi, told Reuters: “Madonna has demonstrated over the years that she has passion for Malawi and her children, and therefore the court was satisfied and could not stop the adoption of the twins.†The singer dismissed reports in January that she intended to adopt more children from Malawi as “untrue rumours†and said she was visiting the country as part of her work for NGO Raising Malawi. Esther and Stella will join David Banda and Mercy James, Rocco, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie, and Lourdes, from a previous relationship. Madonna’s relationship with Malawi has not always been smooth. The former Malawian president Joyce Banda accused her of demanding unending gratitude for her adoptions, but her successor Peter Mutharika said in 2014: “My government has always been grateful for the passion Madonna has for this country.†A representative for Madonna did not provide a comment. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2017/feb/07/madonna-adopts-twin-girls-from-malawi-stella-esther
  10. Film projects are expected to become more common place as time passes is my educated guess, you should be prepared... just saying If the calendar is correct, film this year with post production late summer and film release before 12.31.2017 for early 2018 award season. Maybe a new soundtrack song to accompany the film to also be nominated. Then full album production throughout 2018 with hopeful first single by December 2018 and she has already stated she'll be back on tour in 2019 so this would fit perfectly. Its becoming very easy to predict the flow now.
  11. Your constant belief in what is called false equivalency is adding to the world's problems... LITERALLY. Look up False equivalency. This comparison you've made is exactly that.
  12. Madonna is a smart lady... Pretty sure she ran that comment by many of her attorneys. Its what someone at her level has to do. People like Bill Maher, stand up comedians all have said things with similar context and have been fine. She'll be fine. Trump trolls are EVERYWHERE. The real problem is this new administration wants these types of drama distractions because people and media focus on this petty stuff instead of the real dangerous things this administration has started to do.... don't be fooled by the circus. Its behind the curtain we need to focus on.
  13. I have never heard of a Ballad tour planned... ever. A tour for BS and ROL yes, that is common knowledge but That would have been in her late 30s/early 40s.... There is no way she would have done a Ballad tour then. I originally meant as she ages, meaning a future ballad tour when she is in her 60s...
  14. Pretty sure this was massive speculation by the author of that article. Definitely a movie coming first which hasn't even begun filming. This will probably be a Spring through Summer shoot for the film with a lot of post production and release prior to 12.31.2017 so it can be a contender for the 2018 awards season. Wouldn't that be amazing if she's nominated for best director (Golden Globes & Academy Awards) and for best song if she contributes something musically?! This means she won't get serious about new music until probably the end of 2017 to early 2018 with possibly a late 2018 release date or first single drop. And then a tour in 2019 as she has already said recently would happen then (in 2019)
  15. Madonna should 100% collaborate again with: Leonard Foster Price I think Mirwais and Orbit's sound are dated. And Orbit had his shot again with MDNA and it was not as successful as ROL.
  16. I started this thread to have a robust discussion and thank you to all of you! This has been discussed in great detail. There are no wrong answers/topics... other than my original comment of Rebel Heart being the final album under her current contract, which I later corrected. Lately, I have been wondering what is the best formula for increasing album sales for an artist of Madonna's stature? There are not many artists at her level anymore. I would love to see Madonna find a record label home that respects her enough to devote the proper resources to promotion. In turn, I think Madonna's core audience is changing. We are wiser, we are older (mid 30s- early 60s) and we do not have the same fickleness that the younger demographic has toward popular music. We are more settled into our comfort zones of what we like. Radio does not typically cater to us anymore. But I think whenever Madonna records her records the overall marketing plat is to include us and expand her fanbase of younger listeners. And radio hasn't been cooperating with that plan for many years. for the future... I just want great pop music. I want Madonna to do this for as long as she wants. If Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand and Cher can continue without end well into their 70's and Tony Bennet well into his 90s... We should have 20-30 more years of Madonna!! I must admit, I am curious if Madonna will ever do a tour of ballads. I would love a ballad album all new songs. The costumes she could wear could be far more glamorous and I am interested in how that could work from a production aspect. (this is totally just a fantasy of mine, it could never happen)
  17. Movie first... Hopefully a song will accompany the film (ala Masterpiece) But this time... please Madonna put the song in the film so you can be nominated and will for best song in a film for Golden Globes and Academy Awards.
  18. Its also my guess....especially if France also has its own "Brexit referendum" That all artists touring sales will be down a while... just my guess, I could be wrong on this. But the world is becoming darker and more skeptical. We shall see, the population may actually surge for more artistic expression... Only time will tell.
  19. Its just my guess.... but due to these election results here in America I get the feeling once the music comes back into focus for her whether a directing gig occurs or not... We may get a full on Revolution of Love/American Life-ish type album. And it may potentially be universally better received. People are not nearly as patriotic right now with our new president. Madonna is fucking pissed. It will probably come through in the music.
  20. Wow.. I think this is an age thing. The Look Of Love is (to me) by far a better song lyrically, melodically. yes Time Stood Still is a newer more modern produced track but OMG, The Look Of Love is perfection.
  21. Hi! =) I started this thread and have read all replies. You, my friend are on to something here. Great response.
  22. Did I miss count while starting this post?!?!? I stand corrected (and I should have known.... ) But yes, one more album is still to be delivered. I think the RH era was a breathe of fresh air from the dark MDNA period. I also hope this same upbeat energy continues on the next album. What I am preparing myself for and I hope I don't get skewered for this comment, but I am curious what we will get from Madonna in her 60s. This is literally around the corner... I know even in her 60s Madonna could dance circles around other pop contemporaries and princesses. I really hope the world and media will stop attempting to retire her.
  23. Hello All! As technically the Rebel Hear era is still in effect until the Blu-Ray/DVD of the tour is released/expected late this year, and conventional knowledge that Madonna has satisfied all 3 Interscope Records per that contract, and new outlets detailing Madonna is now a free agent.... One thought is: Shouldn't we get more news in the next 12 months that detail a new recording deal whether with Live Nation or with a major label before we start to hear of Madonna back in the studio for the follow up to Rebel Heart? Another thought is: Depending on Madonna's new music, she could use it to shop for a new deal with unheard new Material to get a new deal/label behind the new project. What are your thoughts? -Lukesavant
