  1. I can't believe some people thought that that short video was an official trailer. I still think that the video won't come out this year, which is absolutely ridiculous. To be honest, I've been rather frustrated this week seeing how much effort someone like Kylie Minogue puts into her album releases. Not only that, but she seems to have a team committed to making her go number 1 in the UK, at the least. And then she actually PERFORMS (thus, promotes) the music during the album release week. Then, she also successfully delivers an online concert (heavily edited and all!). It just makes me think the little effort, creativity and overall thought there was behind everything related to Madame X. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the album and the tour, but I was always on edge — few AND bad interviews, never-ending problems during the tour, bad press, bad attitude etc — and it just seemed she was in a bad and confrontational mood (more than usual!) all along. Now this DVD/video release (whatever ends up being) has been in the works for ages with no sign of release at all... Honestly, unless there's a big release for this (which I doubt), whatever momentum there was, is gone. So many wasted opportunities throughout this era. Gone are the days of exciting Madonna releases every year or so. Sometimes I feel Madonna enjoys the brattiness and attention that being "Madonna" affords her, but she's really not interested in the work, success, or fame anymore. I respect her desire to probably focus on her family life more — she's earned it! — but it's frustrating and at times, sad how we've arrived to the present. Her albums come and go rather quickly nowadays and I suspect this live release will be a "fans only" thing in terms of its impact. Anyone else feeling the same? Sorry for the rant!
  2. Omg I’m so with you on this one. There are many Instagram profiles dedicated to Madonna where the posters see it as their duty to facetune/deform/heavily alter her face. It’s absurd. What the hell are they seeing? Why do they think that that’s somehow nice or acceptable? Lol.
  3. Hmm honestly, I keep thinking that at this point we won’t get anything until next year. Unfortunately, these days it takes her longer to edit her concerts than to record a damn album. Booo
  4. Wow that's a beautiful photo! Why the hell did they edit it so much? She should've used it like this, period. I miss that face, very glamorous
  5. Me too. The MDNA tour cover is a mystery to me, still. Does anyone know what photo is that, or where it came from? It reminds me of her back in 1993.
  6. Recently, M seems to be following more and more people on Instagram, anyone know who she’s been adding? Just being nosey lol Earlier this year she followed a lot of BLM activists, so wondering... I’m surprised Lana del Rey never followed her back. How ungrateful haha
  7. Honestly, no thanks. I’m okay with just listening to it on AppleMusic.
  8. You’re killing me, this is great ?.
  9. Don’t give her ideas! She’d probably love this. Ugh. At least the photo has something to do with the tour unlike the one they used for MDNA tour dvd/Bluray.
  10. What?! The BIM video is delightfully fun, quirky, colourful and uplifting. My only complaint was their inability to get all those celebrities to actually be IN the video, particularly Nicki Minaj, obviously. That was disappointing.
  11. Absolutely! Hardly “art” imo. Just a bunch of filters and letters. I could come up with something similar on Instagram. I vote for the other design posted above. So classy, plus it really evokes the theatre-like and mysterious qualities Madame X was supposed to convey.
  12. Hmmm.... - I have a gap in my front teeth - I am bossy - I intimidate people (don't mean to? ;) ) - I make people uncomfortable with my sarcastic/unfiltered/dark sense of humour - I'm forward-looking - I love books - I love pushing buttons - I'm resilient - I'm creative - I was raised Catholic too - I love Césaria Evora, Frida, Tamara de Lempicka and a good rosé
  13. OMG this is beautiful!!! If only! Unfortunately, she'll probably use one of her Insta selfies for the cover haha
  14. Weird Madonna is often the best Madonna. Unhibited, unfiltered, uncensored, free. My fave "weird" M songs are ("Weird" largely being a subjective matter): - Secret Garden (go, vagina, go!) - Bedtime Story (A Björk song, after all! Grateful grapefruit!) - Mer Girl (So introspective and beautiful!) - Cyberraga (Shanti/Ashtangi part II) - Mother & Father (the paradox between the seriousness of the lyrics and the quirkiness of the vocal delivery is striking!) - Dark Ballet (Well... rather obvious in its madness... brilliant!)
  15. This whole convesation has gotten really confusing. Suddenly Pre-Ritchie Madonna wasn't political enough? Do we not all understand that sex is a political issue (particularly for women and LGBTQs?)? Do we forget what Madonna represented to gays during the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the 80s and 90s? Do we not understand the importance of how her bringing sex into pop music empowered women immensely? I agree that Mrs. Ritchie served us with amazing music, looks and tours, but, I'm sorry, even if it was obvious she was elated living the traditional family life she always craved, some of her attitudes and opinions at the time were super backward, conservative and very anti-Madonna, actually. Love makes us do crazy things, even forget about who we are, and to me, that seemed to be her case. She kept dismissing her artistic and political contributions in pop culture (particularly in regards to everything between 1990-1993), and toned down her act too much, probably to not annoy Guy... I mean, conservative, Brit lady of the pub Madonna was all out. Of course I LOVED many of her projects at the time: American Life, Music, the Re-Invention Tour and Confessions, but looking back it's easy to see how she kinda lost herself in the process too. Blame it on love? It's interesting to see, but must be really hard, especially when the world is witnessing your changes, relationships, breakups, etc. I certainly don't blame her for going full on "Girl Gone Wild" after the divorce. Couldn't you all see how sad and angry she was then? Even if the MDNA album has many enemies to this day, the whole project was fascinating to me in that respect: Madonna literally took her heartbreak on a crazy rageful night out... The tour also embodied that darkness and overall anger, imo. Recently M has been looking back and that has been beautiful to see. I think all artists struggle to look back dearly to her early/younger selves, but don't we all? Though in very different genres and paths, even artists like Joni Mitchell has taken her bloody time to fully embrace her early career... For years she dismissed her folky era, and only this year, at 76, Joni finally opened up her vaults and is releasing her early demos, recordings of live/radio show, etc. So, we all give M a hard time for not embracing her catalogue or her career as WE would like her to, but it's her right to delve into it her way, no? The 2010s might've not ended up being her most successful, commercially speaking, but if she felt she still had things to say, create, sing, etc, well, why not? She wasn't ready to look back then (it's Madonna, after all... always looking forward), so let's be happy she's doing that now. Singles being released in digital/streaming platforms, rare videos posted on YouTube... I like the teasing pre-biopic.
  16. OMG this would be amazing! She should deffo do a little online unplugged show. Unfortunately, I am guessing that she would go for Madame X theatre tour style prices, and possibly higher. You know, the honour of listening to Madonna live via Zoom lol
  17. I love her singing a bit of "Waiting" in that last post, yay! One of my fave songs off Erotica, no doubt. "Next time you want pussy, huh! Just look in the mirror baby!" Priceless!
  18. I love the new look (and that dress!) I also loved the Frida quote, as it’s not only one of my fave Frida quotes, but also a beautiful one that probably conveys everything she’s been feeling in regards to her knees and overall long recovery.
  19. That’s a weird/conservative estimation of her net worth, no? I don’t think it adds up. Considering she’s sold over 300 million albums, had tour grosses of over 1.2 billion, invested in different products and companies, collaborated with brands, etc... Unless Guy Ritchie and WE took a lot away from her, I’m not sure it’s a fair estimate. Thoughts?
  20. Wow this photo just makes me so sad. She looked perfect back then. I also think she was radiant in 2004. And obviously in 1995-96 as you also mentioned it. I don’t necessarily think she did anything to her nose... I think it’s a matter of angles. The shape has pretty much stayed the same. We also know how much “face tuning” goes on on some of her photos, regardless of how bad some of those photos already are. That bday “bitch face” was so horrid. What was she thinking? Those are precisely the kind of photos everyone avoids posting? Lol To me, her greatest crime in regards to her plastic surgery treatments has been her eyes. She definitely did something to her eyelids. As a result she always looks tired and swollen. Her eyelids have lost the depth and shape they used to have. Which also makes me think she’s constantly tweaking with that area. Check some of her posts and you can see small purple-ish marks here and there. Not good. Her eyes have always been one of her most beautiful features.
  21. What? "Masterpiece"? Do you not mean "Love Spent"? She sounds REALLY good, unfiltered and clear on "Masterpiece". It's actually one of my fave M studio vocals, along others like "Drowned World", "Live to tell", "Mer girl", "Gone", "American pie", "Easy ride", "X-static process" and "Rebel heart".
  22. I agree. No one is being forced to buy. Other singers have their own product lines. Sure, Madonna's are not as accessible given the prices (both of this perfume and MDNA Skin products) but as you argued before, she's really not in these kind of ventures for charity. And that's ok. The backlash on her social media is really depressing, though. People need to calm down and move on if not interested. Corona has set people off for sure... conspiracy theories, online bullying, yikes!
  23. Well... that was a weird perfume "ad" lol... How "artistic" :P Also, I'm rather surprised she unfollowed Debi, too...
