  1. I’m a bitchy fan and I thought this was great. Absolutely no complaints.
  2. Looks like she’s actually putting a bit of effort into this. Maybe she watched the Medellin playback and realized she needed a course correction.
  3. It wasn't greenlit at the beginning of March according to the Hollywood Reporter. But otherwise yes... I think that's what will happen. Not one of these hot starlets is going to sit around waiting on Madonna to make up her mind. They'll have to move on. She'll likely be given an ultimatum to relinquish control or go back to square one. I don't see her compromising on anything, but she should.
  4. It's a good question. As others stated, she seems as though she enjoys being in the studio, albeit in a somewhat passive role. I personally don't think the biopic will be made. It doesn't have a green light from a studio, and I seriously doubt anyone is going to give her a blank checkbook and an unlimited time frame to film and edit. Unless she relinquishes a great deal of control, I don't really see a way forward. It's possible that she may let the film cool off a bit and feel the need to create some new music, but I'm not optimistic. RH and MX took forever and both were muddled projects for various reasons. It needn't take an entire year this time. Sometimes less is more.
  5. I think "stabbed in the back" is unnecessarily harsh. Her priorities have changed somewhat over the last few years and she's moved away artistically and personally from the gay community. Similarly, the gay community has also moved on a bit from having these sort of white woman avatars. Even Gaga doesn't engage in nearly as much pandering as she once did. She's always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with her fans and I think social media (DON'T READ THE COMMENTS) has further frayed that pact. At least the dance collection is throwing us a bone, so to speak.. While I can understand her belief that artistic freedom of expression should remain unrestricted, it also legitimizes people who spout and exploit hate giving by-proxy credence to right-wing loons like Carlson and billionaire trolls like Musk. I personally find her Kanye worship abhorrent in that he's antithetical to basically everything she has stood for all these long years. Similarly, Chappelle is riding on the wave of transphobia sweeping the country. I think Guy O's twitter statement expressing concern over what she might say online was not at all tongue-in-cheek and revealed something about their obviously strained relationship.
  6. I just don’t know. Clearly she’s done provocative performances throughout her career, but her recent fixation on thrusting and violently humping people and inanimate objects seems oddly attention seeking, even for Madonna.
  7. Also, hard agree. I would like to see her take some time and focus on her mental and physical well-being... I think this film is a really bad idea, TBH. I know she said she wants to work "Until the wheels come off," but I want her to be ok. No one can handle this type of scrutiny. It absolutely gets harder with age.
  8. 100% agree. She was never the same after the divorce. And yes, even in here instagram videos where she's trying to joke or be silly, it's very child-like and a bit odd. She absolutely seems lonely and disconnected from others, even her children. Her instagram filter obsession also makes her a bit of a target. The paparazzi are absolutely going to try to take the worst, most unflattering photos of her in a game of gotcha: here's what she REALLY looks like. I worry it will make her more reclusive and divorced from reality (which is totally understandable!). Acknowledging that these photos are intended to be exploitative and inflammatory, they still concern me. She doesn't look especially healthy... I'm not sure that's the right word. But something is just off....
  9. V Magazine: "I was gonna barely make any money (on the tour)... especially with the union rules. The union rules are so crazy and their hours are nine to five, and I'm like 'Who works those hours? Can't they just shift the hours from four to midnight? That's so much more conducive to our mentality - when WE work. And they refused. And so anything after five is overtime. You can imagine the bills I incurred." Nevermind the accompanying Klein photoshoot where she bragged on Instagram she didn't pay her interns and made them work overtime for free. My thoughts: the rules aren't crazy and are there to protect workers from exploitation. Not paying your interns is absolutely exploitation. Again, if she tries that shit with a major studio, she'd be fired.
  10. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. That is an unwieldy script and would have to be significantly pared down to fit into a standard running time. I can't imagine a studio giving her funding when their priority is not the creation of art, but the making of money and time is money. She would have to deliver a lean, easily consumable project on time and within budget. Also, Madonna doesn't exist in a bubble. Her recent anti-union comments probably didn't fall on deaf ears and Hollywood is certainly a union town. She won't in a position to force, say, IATSE workers to work her schedule and hours. My guess is she'll be left with three choices: give up control of the project; an indefinite delay; or fund it herself.
  11. Agreed. I think there are several people around her (apropos of nothing - Klein) who probably are no strangers to drugs. If she wants something. She'll can get it. Most opioids that aren't prescribed through pain management are laced with Fentanyl now. All she has to do is ask the wrong person for a pain-killer and if it's cut with fent it's Prince all over again.
  12. I find her Kanye obsession kind of disturbing. She stated very clearly in a recent interview he's the only current artist she respects and that we should just look past the fact that he invited Marilyn Mason (who had been accused of rape, abuse and sexual sadism) and Da Baby (who expressed some disgusting homophobia, which she rightfully rebuked) to an album release stunt that I suppose was a critique of "cancel culture." I also can't forget, Kanye's own publicist also threatened election officials in a attempt to overturn the election in favor of Trump and that he himself suggested running for president, mostly to pull a handful of Black votes from Biden to give the Whitehouse back to Trump. This isn't even close to OK and it's hardly differing political opinions when our Democracy is at stake here. And don't get me started on Mayweather, who has a long history of disgusting homophobia and extreme bigotry (even just a couple of months ago he is on camera saying he wouldn't take a photograph with a male fan with painted nails). This isn't someone you pose with in an instagram photo when he embodies so many of the hateful things many of her fans have struggled with over the years. Madonna always took her narcissism and used it as fuel for extraordinary endurance and, usually, for the right political causes. Without infallible confidence, she probably would've had a breakdown ages ago. I think she recognizes a fellow narcissist in Kanye and it draws her to him. However, his Personality Disorder and co-morbid Bipolar diagnosis are weapons of chaos when he's in crisis. His money and fame allow him to do whatever he wants whenever he wants no matter how destructive and without consequence. Her recent "Artists are here to disturb the peace," mantra, which she repeats ad-nauseam, seems a manifestation of that particular ethos and less an embrace of non-conformity and "good trouble." It's about giving herself permission to let her ego run amok, to exist in a world of her own making and privilege where there are no rules and no consequences, much like Kanye. That said, her current "peace disturbing" seems limited to mildly annoying her fans by wearing grills, using weird filters, and violently humping various inanimate objects. The pandemic was likely the first time in her adult life where Madonna was controlled by outside forces and I wonder how much that has affected her current mindset. She's always rebelled at the word, "No." Right or wrong, she really couldn't psychologically handle the restrictions placed on her, which is likely why she flew her family and sycophants from around the globe to party maskless while the pandemic raged. Tested or no, it wasn't really a justifiable trip. Long winded rant that I needed to get off my chest. Something odd is going on here, and I'm legitimately concerned about her well-being and safety, especially after saying in that final interview that she wants to work herself to death and Lourdes saying he never sleeps. The surgeries, the falls, the dozens of empty pill bottles... I don't want to look back in a couple of years and wonder why no one stepped in when all the "disturbing the peace" was in actuality a cry for help.
