Ahah guys nobody was properly talking about her retiring. It all went out from the simple speculation you can read in these posts. It was just about imagining the I'll remember meaning as the closer of the show. And I wrote my post (the second one) meaning I don't think it's her spirit: the "goodbye"/"bow"/"remember" stuff could maybe be staged as a finale when/if she will retire.

I don't think she is gonna retire at all, as you know I'm waiting for NEW FUCKING MUSIIIIIC!!!!!!!

Yes totally agree, very beautifully said!

That blue/green hue imitates water. During certain shoots we can see screen blurred by water jets - probably the reason why the song doesn't have the proper HD video. Anyway, Madonna said that water is an cleansing element, water itself is the main theme of Ray of Light album.

I have theory about the character Madonna is playing in the music video. The woman was in so much distress, she considered commiting a suicide, but after she washed herself in the sea, she cleansed herself and changed her mind, leading her to move on, as we see her sitting on the beach.

    Beautifully said

This song is about someone vulnerable. Maybe it's about Rocco and Madonna's vulnerable moments when she feels like a child and in need of guidance and help. It's a "time to grow up" kinda song. There's obstacles and a huge change is going to take place, even though it's acceptance hurts.

Little off topic but this should've been a single from AL. The chorus is instant and the lyrics can be applicable to all things in life. It sounds like it was a hit back in the early 2000's but no, it's just an album track. It's mature and simple but also has that sweet chorus that is always popular in pop music. NF and the title track, although good songs in their own ways, should've never been singles. NF is too mature and a downer (plus those remixes SUCK), AL is, well, the reason the album flopped. Hollywood,  NKM, Intervention,  and LP should've been the only singles released.

It was a difficult album to sell anyway, she always tries to win but trying something different, so she can think of herself as the big camaleon of pop, the one who takes the biggest risk and succeeds anyway. She has always done that, cause she does not have two similar albums. People loved her so much in ROL, but she changed a lot again for Music, and even though it was a big risk she succeded one more time, even for people like me who wanted another ROL. But, not this time. I loved American Life but it was too much for people. She was already 45, and even though at the top of her game, vocally, physically and everything, people didn´t liked the music in US at least, and the album flopped not matter what she did. And after that, she has not been so daring anymore, maybe with Madame x, but cause she knew she wasn´t going to sell well anyway.

The same can be said, when after LPA VOGUE era she tried to change again with Erotica. Big risk, and she didn´t succeed as she wanted, but nobody can deny she risked a lot when she could have done another true ble or LAP or Vogue.

On the song, yes, I agree, it´s probably about Rocco when he was a baby, but you can understand it more universally as a love song towards somebody you want to take care, acknowledging the troubles in living.

  4. I wonder if they are really really worthy. I mean, ROL is a total masterpiece and they were totally doing that perfect match on those sessions and even when they did the subsequent songs from movies, but by the time Music was being done, it was clear that the new stuff wasn´t that magical anymore, and well, I like his songs on MDNA a lot, but nothing compared with Frozen, ROL and all those 1998 songs.

So, I think the best things of ROL have been already released. And the already leaked demos are not that good in my opinion, so I really coulldn´t care less, even if ROL is one of my favourite albums ever, and one the albums that changed my life, literally. And I still feel the magic when I listen to it, remembering those glorious times.

yea it kinda sucks everytime i watch a interview from the pre2010s eras madonna it just makes me kinda sad it seemed like she went through so much character growth through the 80s/90s/2000s just for it to all be thrown out the window it’s like you watch a video of madonna during the ray of light or american life era  talking about some sophisticated shit then see her on tiktok doing this

    https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSFb6JH2e/

it’s just sad seeing her embarrass herself like that

what’s confusing is unlike celebs like for example britney or amanda bynes where we can try to pin point events or things that occurred which caused them to change i’m not really sure what happened with madonna that caused her to start behaving the way she is now, however i think she finally noticed as her recent tiktoks and posts haven’t been as…..out there

side note: i think the hard candy era gets alot of hate just because she was “following trends” it’s a great album with a lot of great songs i’d rather have madonna follow trends and have good songs than be experimental and release something like madame X which in my opinion is her worst album

Yes totally agree. But I think the lowest point was between 2018 till 2022 actually. She became really strange, looked very bad sometimes and did many strange things as the milk bath video during the covid times. Madame x for me is her worst, but worse was the music she released after that. Then the injuries. the cancelation of tour dates...I think she was really really depressed or bad psicologhically, even destroying her body shape.

But, on a positive note, and even she really can´t dance as before, but who care as she is 65 and looking again fabulous, this last tour is a very positive step again, a huge success, and I bet she is going to do good things again, in the vein of her amazing and fabulous and umatchable legacy as the history biggest pop artist ever.
