Thank you! You’re 100% correct! I don’t get why people trust Guy more than the tabloids. Her management lies as much as any publication and they all spin the narrative that suits them best. Don’t think for a second her management is revealing the whole truth in situations like this. The fact that we had no idea this happened until Wednesday (when we were told just because PageSix was running with it) should tell you everything you need to know. And no, we don’t need daily updates from Madonnas camp. Health is a private matter. We know what happened and we know she’s recovering. Until there’s further developments regarding the tour and such there’s nothing else to say unless she wants to communicate something. The fact that she’s not saying anything suggests to me that she’s still in a weak state and not out of the woods completely.

America especially is very divisive and full of hatred right now, especially on the right where they always disliked Madonna. I’ve seen people saying she deserves it for her anti Trump speech at the women’s March, that she got sick because of the covid vaccine and several insane conspiracy theories. But also for every nut out there there’s 10 people posting about how much they love her and wishing her well. If I’m gonna be blunt, this is great free PR for her. Her amazing career is highlighted everywhere you look and people are reminded she’s still here and should be appreciated while she’s still alive

Wether or not she’s on the mend now the tmz story sounds very plausible to me. Only 3 years ago this woman dragged a severely damaged hip on stage every night, going against the advice of the best professionals, until that hip totally collapsed and caused a very difficult recovery for her. The tour suffered, the fans suffered and most importantly she suffered. And now it looks like the same nightmare is unfolding once again. I love and admire her a lot but I hope she’ll start taking better care of herself and work within the age limitations she has. We all want a healthy thriving Madonna for many more years to come!

If there is a Madonna reissue it will be going live on the anniversary date at the end of July.

Last year I got mine more than a week after the release day while my neighbor (who ordered it long after me) got it on release date. You never know with them.

Haha I’m sure Warner would have never shelled out 4 million dollars for Bedtime Story. But yeah, at least for LAP they did pay for the videos cause she said how she convinced her to do a high budget video for Oh Father and then they forced her to do Vogue on a tight budget

I think the only collectible obi pressings are the ones manufactured specifically in that country. I still find it funny how resellers try to sell at outrageous prices the Taiwanese MadameX vinyl just because they added a little obi to the imported pressings

Hasn’t she done this for the past 2 years though? I think the slow rollout is intended though. This way each ep gets more spotlight and she appears more often in people’s recommendations and radars and such. It’s also interesting that for a while they were releasing rare promo stuff and then it suddenly stopped. I assume they made a marketing plan to milk more money/promotion from these rare remixes down the line

I wouldn’t write her off just yet. If she keeps advancing in the streaming charts and the tour is well received by the mainstream she could totally score another number one, provided she releases something as universally catchy as Kylie’s Padam.

She was hardly a nobody. Which for a woman her age and relevance in this climate is a great feat. They’ve been chipping away at her streaming status for over a year now and it was already working. But yes being #69 (pun intended?) is huge for her. People here are complaining because they are expecting another huge era like Vogue or Hung Up. It’s totally doable but it takes time to build relevance in the streaming era after years of damage.

Isn’t the radio playing Vulgar though? I don’t think the song is doing bad or is a flop by any means. 4 million streams is nothing to sneeze at. But let’s face it it’s not a major lead single with a lot of money behind it and it’s not a pop masterpiece. I don’t know why people assumed it’s gonna be any bigger than it is. but also I see potential for it to take off more through organic growth on social media like Frozen. But that can happen next week or in 5 years or never. Im just glad that Madonna seems to be the star of this duet and she gets a lot of praise for her feature.

My expectations were very low and it’s doing better than I thought. Even though Unholy was a hit I don’t think Sam Smith is that huge, compared to other artists like Taylor Swift or The Weeknd I feel like the labels did pretty well with all the press and getting the song on radio (when’s the last time a new Madonna song got added on radio?) But I keep saying, this really needs a video to truly take off. Hopefully they considered that and one is on the way
