Two amazing overlooked songs never done before and done brilliantly with superb arrangements by Stuart Price and staging
Her best opening number since Confessions

    NRM and BS.
They both prove she can put on a great show with dance music and not need 100 dancers or crazy choreo. They were at the top of my wish list. Still can't believe she did them.

I haven't listened to her since Celebrity Skin in which I liked some songs even though I simultaneously felt like it was a sell out album being that the production sounded so clean and polished compared to Live Through This which is a fucking masterpiece.
Saying she doesn't like Madonna is like .... who cares??!
But saying Taylor is the Madonna of now is mad ignorant.

Apparently, in the video for Secret, the director Melodie McDaniel referenced Leigh in the movie Last Exit to Brooklyn as one of the inspirations

"Medellin" isn't just a song to me—it's a piece of my life. Back in 2016 when I was 20, I left my tiny german hometown to spend a year doing voluntary work in Medellin. That year changed everything for me. I picked up Spanish, fell head over heels for Reggaeton, and had the kind of adventures I'd only ever dreamed about. Medellin was also where I first really got to embrace my identity, amazing parties and meeting my first boyfriend. It was wild, freeing, and eye-opening in so many ways.
Fast forward a couple of years, and Madonna (who I've been absolutely obsessed with since 2005) drops Medellin with Maluma, who was my Reggaeton fave at the time. It felt like the universe was giving me a nod. The song hit me hard because it was like reliving those Medellin vibes. It's probably why Medellin has been a staple in my Spotify Wrapped for the last five years. It's more than nostalgia; it's a reminder of a time when I felt completely alive and so happy with myself.
Honestly, I wish there were demos or anything extra from that Medellin just to keep that magic going. Sorry but Medellín really gives me hardcore maincharacter vibes.

I love this song so much! Such a stronger song than people give it credit
The 1, 2, 3 punch of the first three tracks of Madame X is glorious

How could I forget Reggie Lucas! Poor him, always the forgotten one on that debut album. But he was basically hired because of this #1 hit he also co-wrote and co-produced:
This music video always cracks me up, she's just so happy cause she's IN LOVE!
Result: "Borderline" - Madonna's first US Top 10 hit ever.

Yeah, the way history is rewritten is incredible. Nile Rodgers was massive when she worked with him. So were a bunch of the folk she did Bedtime Stories with. While there are plenty of folk involved in her latterday work, always presented as her weakest, who weren't big names. It's just a rationale folk apply to justify not liking something.

You could play this song at a wedding and every single person would get up and dance. All age groups. It's sophisticated, celebratory, and has just enough cool to make you feel like you just got some Maluma dick. Mission accomplished.

Well, it worked (commercially) with Nile Rodgers in 1984/1985, it worked with Nick Kamen in 1986, it worked with Dallas Austin and Babyface in 1994/1995, it worked (internationally, not that much in the US) with Britney in 2003, it worked with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland in 2008...
Of course we all have personal preferences and she had indeed a reputation for discovering new sounds, trends and producers and making them mainstream, but facts are facts. She's gone with "flavor of the month" many times (even with Björk! She was exactly that in 1993/1994 after "Debut"), it's just a case of us fans liking that particular collaboration or not.

    For me TOP3 would be:
    - Like a Prayer (song so iconic... And I simply love seeing half-naked men dancing upside down )
    - Hung Up on Tokischa/Hung Up (honestly, the performance is pretty ordinary, but daaaamn, the energy, THE ENERGY when she started singing it live on Celebration Tour in Amsterdam, I was in trance.. And it even made me like Hung Up on Tokischa version which I would have swear might never happen, now I stan it)
    - Ray of Light (hypnotic, crazy, techno laser show with Madonna flying over your head! Don't need to say more).. Of course, I couldn't vote for the third one, but I felt a need to mention it.

There's a 20 choice limit so a few songs have been omitted.
(La Isla Bonita, DCFMA, Bitch I'm Madonna/Celebration, I Will Survive/Express Yourself)

I'd say "4 Minutes" was everything it needed to be in 2008, a killer commercial song for the time + a killer video. Plus it was one of the biggest hits of that year. It was literally everywhere in Spring 2008.
Even today, with Justin Timberlake "cancelled" and her completely ignoring the song on her greatest hits tour, remains one of her most streamed songs still.
"GMAYL", "Living For Love" and "Medellín" we can discuss for days, yes, apart from personal preferences. IMO "Living For Love" was the weakest combo (song + video), I like the song but there's something missing in the original album version (she always performed remixes and different versions of it since day one). And the video is quite simple for a lead. I think "Bitch I'm Madonna" should have been the lead on "Rebel Heart".
