Come to terms with her legacy? In case you haven't noticed, she's putting together her biopic. So she's revisiting her past in her own way, at her own pace and in the way she wants to do it.  Moreover, I think she's actually been flirting with her legacy for a while, just not in a very obvious way (which is her right too). She often likes to reuse her old lyrics (like "Vogue" on "Holy Water", or even "Don't Tell Me" in "Future"), posts old photos on her IG, and I'm pretty sure Madame X is t

Honestly, I think her disdain of deeply revisiting her past has now reached a point of backfiring. In the politics of women in music, Madonna managed to maintain relevancy chart wise well past the "expiration" years because she still had killer hits and the appeal to back her up. But there was a shift in her public persona that started during MDNA where some of the things she said or did for shock-value or controversy came across as desperate and/or an attempt to keep up with Katy, Gaga, Beyonce

And I mean as much as you can. Create playlists with both of the songs, but always put 2-3 different tracks in between them so they don’t get filtered out. Play on atleast 25% volume 2. Buy the songs on itunes if you can. Purchase all the versions available. This will boost the song

If they want to be near of a POSSIBILITY of her having a hit again she needs a variety of physicals, i undertand that they try to increase her streaming numbers, and it's perfect because it's the future and all of that, but why having 0 physical formats?, she has fans that buy literally all, even new artists like Justin, Ariana, Gaga, etc. release various physical editions of their singles and they are streaming artists (2 of them at least) so why a "physical artist" have 0 physicals?. And no, releasing a cd single is not expensive or long time to make them

there’s no proof that she was even asked. i wouldn’t read too much into it considering she was battling her injuries during that time as well.

No proof that Madonna was even asked? wow so you mean they asked to Missy elliot but they didn't even ask to Madonna? LMAO.

With all the new Billboard charts rules post-Madame X, Madonna will have to hope for #3 debut like Bedtime Stories. The days of bundling are over. A lot of artists are affected. In the end though, who cares? Just release something decent. Aim for critical success and interest.

Why is that? What do these new rules entail?

Artists were using bundled merch and concert tickets to bulk up their sales numbers and now they don't allow that anymore. They only count sales of people specifically meaning to buy the album now.

yeah I think most merch items on her official store had a digital download.... it became common practice and artists were basically being made to out-bundle each other to compete for a better chart position...

I think she can still get a #1 album like Madame X if she makes it more palatable to the masses. A hit song, that is harder.

Yes, I believe for MDNA, Rebel Heart, and Madame X concert ticket sales included a copy of the album. That’s why all 3 charted so high during the first week (because the albums “sold” with tickets were all counted with first week album sales) and why they so quickly dropped from the top of the charts. I bought MDNA and Rebel Heart tickets through third party so didn’t get copies of the albums, but I bought 2 Madame X tickets through Ticketmaster and received 2 copies of the standard cd in the mail.

If Elton John can still have a number 2 in the UK charts in 2021 (obviously because Dua Lipa is featured on it) then I don't see why Madonna can't.

Exactly. The key is literally choosing the right / trendy artist for a collab, if you choose someone as popular as someone like Dua or Billi you get a granted top10 at least effortlessly lol. Elthon is smart, it's not the first time he collabs with much younger and more popular artists

The thing is that Elton sings a sample of an old classic of his catalog on that new track and people love it. If Madonna decide make a new version of La isla bonita or Holiday with a current successfull artist i'm confident the track will do well. Past a certain age nostalgia is often working.

This would be the right chance to make Candy Shop or Human Nature a real hit :Madonna003:
