I find it funny seeing comments about the RIT leak being 'shitty', to me it's a great rough professional recording, and without it's leak we'd still be holding to the short-ass IGTTYAS videos and incomplete audio and being like "Oh how I wish a pro-shot would leak!!!!". SMH

I think the subject has been discussed to death and nothing's gonna happen at this point but lmao. Why should music fans care about a skin care product line? What does RHT have to do with her old tours? Does that mean her old stuff doesn't matter anymore? What does a couple of problematic fans blasting her weight have to do with this thread?   damn sis. I get the frustration but chill...

Not gonna happen . Like a blue ray / dvd release of Blond Ambition

I heard that Madonna wasn't happy with the result (I don't if it's true or not), so she didn't release the entire concert. But I don't get it, the few songs we have on the documentary are so great. She really needs to call Jonas Akerlund for the next tour.

I personally think she prefers people to see it through her artistic vision through the documentary. The same for Truth or Dare.  I can understand that from an artistic point of view, even if it doesn't include all the performances we'd like to have.

Re - invention Tour DVD Update

February 16, 2005

We have received tons of email here at Madonna.com regarding the DVD release of the Re - invention tour and we wanted everyone to know that a release date has not yet been set. We are currently looking at releasing the DVD some time during the fourth quarter of 2005 in time for the holidays. Stay tuned to Madonna.com for more info about the release.

Why Madonna never released Re-Invention DVD? What do you think, will she ever release it?

Answering to your questions, @@kasinomo:

1) There's a lot of theories here and there in Madonna's circles. Some say the entire Lisbon footage is in litigate process due to the lawsuit Hamish Hamilton (who was supposed charged to tape it and then was discarded by M) filed against M. So while the lawsuit is not ended, any part of footage cannot by released by official means by anyone (that could explain why the actual footage leaked ages ago, maybe it was a retaliation against this measure). Others say she was dissatisfied with the actual footage, so she rather went with doc with was a poor choice, but, okay, she was at her Kabbalah peak of blind faith then (thanks Raising Malawi experiences left her more with two feet in the ground). And there's a theory that CBS (who was supposing airing live concert à la HBO's Nice broadcast of BAT) was forced to get back with broadcast due to sensitive feedback from general audience, so they decided together to not show anything nor help with further edition or any part of filing process like co-production, the most important (however, CBS subsidiary Showtime, more than 10 years later, did the opposite with RHT, but, it's okay, it's a cable TV channel, so it's not for any viewers).

2) Try to convince Warner Home Video and/or Reprise Home Video to do so. Good luck. See you!

Keep in mind, "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" aired prior to the release back on Oct. of 2005 on MTV.  I recall the uproar of wondering when the documentary going to be released, when MTV and parent companies had the rights to airing it, and a release couldn't happen until those rights expired. By this time, a release of simply of RIT was out of the question.  The focus was put on the documentary instead.

I think whole DVD is edited, we have Die Another Day and Burning Up on internet as promo videos for DVD.

I adore Vogue and Nobody Knows Me edit on IGTTYAS, I would like to have full concert edited like that :D

Well, that's because DAD was included in the documentary, and I'm sure "Burning Up" among other performances from the tour were edited and considered to be included in the documentary, but like with any feature length film, scenes are cut and left on the editing floor.

Dear, I was answering Bat-Fan who seemed to ask when it was released as a full format, I mean, when it was home released in its full version. By the way, don't you ever remember me that time, I was anxious to get a copy of it when aired first in MTV and Vh1 that would be given in a contest to be done by a Brazilian fan site, but somehow it didn't happen. I spent the entire final third part of 2005 waiting for the contest to happen after its announcement, but...

I had to wait until A&E aired it, but it was late-2005 or early-2006, don't recall properly.

And I hated it.

Only bought combo years ago when a seller on my local e-Bay-ish site offered 10 promo free samples that should be offered by local manufactor for a very cheap price. I bought one just for the sake of having it, given the seller was a newbie at the site and usually newbies are very bad intentioned. But I got a copy. Just watched once. Hated even more the bonuses. Understood why this was pushed to be a commercial failure. Anyway...

You mean in the audio CD, right?

As far as I know, DAD and BU were indeed from Lisbon and would be part of the final edition of "Get up Lisbon!" that never has seen the light of the day for some reason. They are very similar to the leaked performances, but, of course, these leaked in raw, not edited, withour any filters.

The point is; the performance was edited to be included in the project whether it be visually or simply for the audio sections/formats.

The whole RIT DVD release is just pure speculation. Obviously, the intent and focus ended up on the documentary.   And I'd hardly call it a "failure". It did make a cool million. This doesn't include all the money made from the airing rights.

So the Bergs were good to her one more time. Praise the 26!!!!!  :)

This isn't about your lack of understanding in her Kabbalah studies and her faith.  :stare::poo:

EDIT: Actually, I will. Rav Berg-ism "Kabbalah" is not actual Kabbalah. This I understand. If you don't agree with me, it's up to you. See you!

Anyway, back to the OP... that statement on Madonna.com was very general and possibly wasn't privy to what was actually transpiring.  I do know the guy running the website (I believe Johann, at the time), was not very "in the know" of what was going on.

Why do people always bring up Kaballah when discussing the RIT dvd ??? I dont understand and to this day i dont get why the whole paris show has been released but i doubt it will be coming soon :((

As far as i'm concerned, there won't be any other Kabbalah-related discussion on this thread. Let's move forward!  :cute:

And, moving back to the OP, again I say: try to convince who should release this to release it now. Good luck. See you!

There's no "convincing".  It ain't gonna happen.  People need to stop creating false hope and think this is detrimental to her career. She's had a long and successful career. She's still quite successful, even though she isn't as commercial as she used to be.  She hit her peak. From this point on, I'm just happy she's still willing to make new music, perform and entertain us.  She isn't a wishing fountain.  She's provided us with a lot over the years. We should be ever so grateful. Most other fans of any other artist can't say the same.

Well, the Tour must be complete in one way or another, because it was scheduled and planned to be aired on CBS. I'm pretty sure this is where the breakdown happened, it was rumoured that CBS wanted to air it with adverts and Madonna did not want this. Check this article out:

Doesn't CBS own the footage or something?

This is where it stems back to.  What people need to take in account, this was planned before the tour was finished. She was trying to strike a deal with CBS to air her full concert, commercial free. CBS backed out before anything was filmed.  So there is no way they own the footage.  Meanwhile, she was filming a lot of backstage stuff, so I expect she eventually just decided to turn her attention to the documentary instead. None of this means, Lisbon was recorded and edited for a DVD release.

Didn't Hamish Hamilton direct her Super Bowl performance?

I guess there is no bad blood between them.

There's so many theories about why this release was scrapped.

It could be she didn't want two separate releases competing against each other. The CBS deal (rumored for the longest) was supposed to air the concert until Madonna declined when she couldn't have it aired commercial free. The documentary probably had some rights or provisions that a similar release couldn't compete with it. Because if you had the choice, the full RIT concert or select performance + documentary? No brainer here.

There's also the rumor she didn't like the footage in the way it was shot (Lisbon if it was indeed to be used) as it seems like screen footage than the way her tours are normally filmed. The documentary also came around the time of the Confessions era which at this point, she probably wanted to focus on her new material and tour rather than the previous one.

The best case scenario would be at some point, a deluxe boxset on BR/DVD of her tours or some anniversary package where I could see her and her team selling it to the public. You'd have Virgin Tour, Blond Ambition and RIT finally on a DVD/BR release so that'd be one of their selling points as one remains unreleased commercially and the other two were released on VHS/LD. She seems rather fond of looking back now on her legacy now so if somewhere down the road, we hear of a release who knows?

But again the CBS deal was shot down before it was even filmed.  No theory.  It's just Madonna and CBS couldn't make a deal.  It's pretty apparent that she moved on to the documentary.  I'm sure once the deal was made with MTV and their parent companies, they had a period of airing rights before she could release anything from this project.
