This argument is so tiring. Madonna creating art that focuses on sex ≠ 'peddling' sex.

Looking sexy and glamorous and being flirty ≠ 'peddling' sex.

A visible nipple in a Ray of Light era photoshoot ≠ 'peddling' sex.

Every era that included overtly sexual themes (Like a Virgin, Justify My Love, Erotica, Hard Candy, MDNA, Rebel Heart) either underperformed significantly and/or damaged her reputation beyond repair. She gets slut-shamed and ridiculed every time. People diminish her artistry and intellect further every time. She has never benefited from her sexual art.

The narrative that she has used sex for her entire career is only believed/spread by deeply deluded fake fans (see InsideTheGroove). To be a fan is to know that this narrative is nothing more than a misogynstic conspiracy theory with no hard evidence.

Her debut, True Blue, Like a Prayer, Bedtime Stories, Something to Remember, Evita, Ray of Light, Music, American Life, Confessions, Celebration are more or less completely void of overtly sexual themes. Even Madame X actually.

The irony of so many misogynists, slut shamers and non-intellectuals being Madonna fans. Maybe she isn't for you?

For goodness sake, please let it go with the "deluded fake fans" narrative around Inside the Groove, its insulting and silly. And a viewpoint of Like a Virgin underperforming is simply not the case ... which anyone who lived through the era as it unfolded could tell you. It basically brought her name to the masses! I don't normally respond to posts in this way, but seeing sh*t constantly flung at someone who is doing such an honest and respectful podcast (rather than just saying you dont like it, which is fine) is beyond tiresome and feels like a personal vendetta against the guy. Please. Let it go.

This new narrative of Madonna being a VICTIM painted by her so called "fans" is strange and kinda upsetting.

It's funny how M fans dragged and criticized what Gaga and fans did, are now doing the same exact thing.

Like what ? Making a fake account on a/this forum because one is bored out of his mind to stir shit up and act like a paragon of virtue afterward because this person does not have the guts to use his real account to do that ?

The virus of “woke” has infected many fans. Their religion states they need perpetual victims to pontificate a sense of holier-than-thou righteous attitude.
It’s so boring and kinda sad.

woke is a corrosive poison that destroys everything.

Cackling at how fans who always share negative thoughts and bitch around always think they're smarter and wiser than those who don't, gotta love them though :Madonna031:

Especially the ones making fake accounts here because they dare not say these things under their real nickname. If they don't value their own opinions then why should we ?

Fabulous... good luck finding things "not shit" to focus on. I find it healthier just to move on from things I dont like. But different strokes an' all that...

Because it's healthy to create a fake account  to troll a forum. When you do that and you're over 25 Y/O it means there's something wrong with you and your life. Focus on that instead of what i do or say. In that regard, yes, we're different folks and thank the goddess for that.

Madonna has always been sexual. Part of her "mission" to normalise women expressing their sexuality just like men do and reclaiming their bodies as opposed to being objectified by men. It's about empowerment. This is probably her biggest legacy. Madonna doesn't care about her "reputation", because people shaming her for sex is exactly what she wants to fight for. If no one criticised her for it, she would be fighting a pointless fight or preaching to the converted. She WANTS the confrontation. She wants to make people think.

Oh honey...

Debut album= Physical attraction (literally a song about a girl wanting to fuck)

True Blue: Open your heart (the music video took place in a peep show), Papa don't preach (about pregnancy, sex is implied)

Like a prayer: in the LAP music video she shows up to church in a night gown, with her boobs pushed all the way up, and makes out with a Saint (might not sound like much now but it was SCANDALOUS). She's literally naked in Express yourself and she grabs her pussy a lot

Bedtime stories: the Human Nature music video featured Madonna as a dominatrix and in Take a bow she basically fucked a TV.

Evita: a movie about a strong female character that slept with strangers and fucked her way to the top

Ray Of light: this was actually a very sex-free era, but Beautiful stranger on the other hand...

Music: the music video literally takes place in a strip club and she moans a lot throughout the song

American Life: not a very sexual era again

Confessions: she was gorgeous and very sexy in the leotard, also dirty dancing on the boombox

Celebration: Revolver is a song about sex

Madame X: Bitch I'm loca.

Madonna has ALWAYS been sexual or at the very least sexy and provocative

Madonna has always been about sex and religion. I'm always baffled by fans being outraged whenever she uses one or the other in her work. And it was never about being sexy but about being sexual because that's what she is. And there's nothing wrong with that. That's why i loved her and Prince in the first place. Somehow not aknowledging this is like reversed slut shaming or something. But i don't think that's what that poster meant in the first place. Twisting other people's words is what trolls do.

Jesus Christ! there are some pretty fucking stupid users I encounter on this forum. Who would ever become a Madonna fan if they had a problem with using sex as a means of art? I never did understand why sex was taboo even as a little kid, it is literally a part of nature. No different than eating food because its a need or having to use the shitter. God danmm I feel like I am living in a world of goldfish in this forum. I think there are many trolls amongst us.

Justify My Love and Erotica are genius works of art.

Photoshop-instagram-whore-Italian-porn-chic is just trashy and pathetic.
Know the difference.

Mae West/Lola Ferrari/Amanda LePore is not a good look on anyone.

Since when did I compare Instagram to her music videos. Clean the rocks out of your head and stop the trolling or you are going to removed from this forum soon. Literally everyone uses photoshop on social media and some of the stuff she posts is meant to get people talking which has been massively successful so far. Madonna uses her social media as a marketing gimmick, nobody is calling it art now are they? GTFO please, you picked the wrong person to respond to, or did you actually realize that you are one of the idiots I was referencing in my previous comment.
