I've been having problems using links (particularly mega) provided by members posts in download sections of the forum.

The link code looks entirely normal. Copying and pasting the code into my browser, the code also looks normal.

Activating the link I'm informed I need a decryption key or the link is invalid.

It's taken me a while to figure out what the problem is but I've found it.

The codes are broken up by multiple spaces.

To get around this I have to quote the post, copy the link, paste the link in the reply and all the spaces are revealed, delete all the spaces, copy this edited code and paste it into my browser and the link works.

If it's a clickable link there's no problem.

I'm using Android and the code problem occurs on multiple browsers.  I also have the same problem on the desktop version of the site (on Android).

I have the same problems all the time, in particular on this site unfortunately. I just try different browsers until one of them works fine but it is a bit of a faff. Anything through MEGA I usually find Chrome has no problem with.

Next time I have an issue I'll message you, it may well be an internet explorer/edge glitch as that's what I usually log in with. Firefox can be just as fickle sometimes though. I also have a weird issue if I try to use an emoticon in a post. It'll kick me straight out once I select the emoticon I want to use and then I have to reselect to reply or message and it'll be there for me to click send.

I believe this post was the first time I'd encountered the problem...I could be wrong.

The very last post on page 2 is my post with a link that still does not work. The problem was resolved by the original poster providing a clickable link.

The link in the second post:

There have been many more but it's quite difficult to remember each post.

That first link doesn't work and for some reason it changes to https// instead of https:// ..... and then it says the decryption key is wrong.

It works fine on Nick's original post, not sure if he edited it...

The other link on the second thread works fine for me...

Also has this been happening only recently?

Hmm past couple of months it's been happening, not all the time but enough that I noticed. I haven't downloaded anything for a couple of weeks though

As I said, the first time I noticed it was in the post I mentioned - 11 March.

The link looks like this:

https://mega.nz/#F!2R8TVKaY!H0_Wa6pUrOBZf4sbpB1-gw

This is how it pastes.

https :// mega. nz/#F!2R8TVKaY!H0_ Wa6 pU rOBZf4sbpB1-gw

I have to paste it in this forum to reveal the spaces, if I paste it in my browser there are no visible spaces.

The other example:

https://mega.nz/#F!v1MVyCyQ!ybutEIEcgIEPTCAjDDcwJg

This is how it pastes:

https ://mega.nz /#F!v1MVyCyQ!ybutEIEcgIEPTCAjDDcwJg
