Tina Turner did a big last tour back in 2008/2009 with 90 dates at the age of 69. Singing and dancing with heels.

Cher is 12 years older and she's done 174 show since 2017. She does not make the handstand but she's moving !

Madonna is in great shape and I adore her but she's not wonder woman and not unique. She's only 61.

Cher's movements on stage amount to little more than walking to and fro while she sings, though. She doesn't exert herself the way Madonna does.

Cher walks on stage...lol. How does that compare to Madonna?

Madonna has a bad knee. Of course that will change everything for her.

I do think she should just stop this tour

Who in their right mind would choose to climb ladders in heels? Dancing in them for long periods of time wears down your legs. Sure they look nice but damn, coupled with a pre-existing injury, no wonder things would get worse. And I echo what others have said that we thought this tour would have been a mix of TOAC and a usual Madonna show but shockingly it's been very strict with little changes thus far. We all want her to be alright however whomever is coaching her needs to take a lot of things into consideration.

there is no reason why one has to climb a ladder.  use a lift, use the smaller stairs, use a step ladder rather than straight ladder, a light rig, or just walk onto the stage.

Tina Turner dances on stage like a mother at her child's wedding.

Madonna is a professionally trained dancer and does a lot more complex choreography.

No comparison.

haven't seen Cher Tina do what the queen does ... b please

It's pretty clear the stage design hasn't been thought through and the more we learn, the more it's becoming clear the tour has been rushed and someone tried to push a traditional M concert into a theatre format.

I agree. They could have had so many cool ways to lift and help her. I hope they are seriously going to redesign things before her next leg on this tour(if there is one).

Maybe so, but keep in mind, a lot of the stages vary in sizes, so they needed to design what would fit for all stages.  It's easy for us to sit back and envision how simple it could be, but designing a stage isn't that easy, especially when it's traveling to different venues that vary in sizes.

Perhaps also consider the cost difference between a standard ladder (that they probably have similar to in every theatre

having seen that video yesterday I was horrified she puts herself through that to arrive at the top rather than some kind of lift.  Stage room is obviously an issue, however there are smaller devices and the cost of. Bespoke mechanical unit vs what we all saw, fucking adapt the segments and graphics to take in extra stage room, yet I’m sure when they first hit this challenge at the start of the tour she was just like “I’m not changing my show, so I’ll just use a ladder”  things like this possibly led to changes in the tour once they actually got to the venues

there was always the promised of new things that weren’t quite ready at the start, but nothing ever materialised because all venues needed an extra day virtuallay across the US right?

it’s not that she’s 61 so much, but that those years in Lisbon I fully believe from footage and pics we glimpsed last year she had relaxed, she was socialising, drinking and eating, and probably for the first time in her life not putting herself through gruelling fitness, gym, Pilates, yoga routine

weve all seen a transformation this year as the weight dropped off and her fitness improved, but I don’t think she ever imagined it would be so hard to get back into shape, go back on tour and really live the full on life of a professional athlete her ambitious tours always come with.

she probably did consider herself invincible and with her current “yes” bubble around her and a new toy boy.

turning things around and coming back from a sedate lifestyle to full on her normal madonna fitness at age 61 would have been gruelling.

but for fucks sake redesign a few of the more challenging stair/steps segments to relieve some knee pressures, perhaps wear some smaller heels - she has plenty of top designer friends to ask and we all know she is injured...

crossing fingers and toes she recovers (and someone takes back her social media account again so she doesn’t start posting more of the weirdly angled selfies like today’s Instagram post..)

In saying that. There are smaller opera productions which have more elaborate and technical staging than M does for the MX tour and more scenes!

Something doesn't add up with the production of this tour.

I agree, it does seem a little off at times.

I am very impressed evey time I see it, but if this means breaking your knee and cancelling the tour, well I'd rather have Cher walking on stage.

Debi herself told her to do so:

(just look at the IG comment , the twitter one is a fake account created by an Italian who makes fun of their relationship... he says "I told her, I can't do anything more, now let's go back eating" - Debi is enjoying life and Italian cuisine in Florence at the moment, where her husband comes from)

I feel very sorry for her injury, hope she does all that it takes to heel it with no permanent damage, having sad that I still think that everything that went wrong with this tour is inexcusable and a huge lack of professionalism  and we as fans have to start putting the blame on somebody else.
Madonna is in this business for almost 40 years, SHE DOESN'T TAKE A STEP THAT SHE DOES NOT WANT TO. Stop blaming Guy O, stop blaming "someone" for changing her mind and putting an arena show into the theather, stop blaming staff for the ladder...
Madonna is not only a human when it comes to the strength (or lack of) of her body, she's also a human who loses herself in her ego, who makes questionable choices and we should not take that away from her and rub on somebody else

Surely to god they can take out the ladder and all these blocks she has to climb up and scramble over. It’s all so unnecessary!

We know she won’t want to just do a whole 90 minute show sat in a chair (I mean we’d still go, but she wouldn’t want to do it) but all that climbing is not good for the joints and just not needed in the show.

Surely they must be re-working it for the Europe shows if she intends on actually doing them. Would be literally insane not to.

She can be gaslighted and manipulated into doing things against her own judgement. The production of this tour hasn't been right from the beginning and remember M's career is fading and she doesn't have the same clout to call the shots as she had even a decade ago. There are more powerful people she needs to kowtow to put on a show like this these days.

Exactly.

Some people still carry the illusion that M is biggest powerhouse in touring and pop. She isn't. That was 2008/2009 when she was playing to 70,000 in stadiums in one city... Nowadays she's playing to that across a month on one continent.

It's life. Things change.

Assumptions...
What we know as fact is what she says and it's pretty clear that she still calls the shots by what she says in interviews and on social media.
