stefo 6,277
It's time for me to say this. Madame X is her best work in decades for me, I'm very proud and relieved by her return to full form in terms of creativity in music, videos, lyrics. At the same time, for a temper like mine who doesn't like slow times and long waitings, the two months long "one-song-a-week" promotion, the very few live performances provided (just Medellin and Like a Prayer/Future) and now this phone free system about the forthcoming tour are making the whole experience much more boring than the Rebel Heart one. I mean, the excitement of the rumours and the news as the fans' sharing were a huge part of the thing for me. I'm one of those people who really enjoyed watching the tour diary and the performances extracts night by night and looking for the right vid to capture the best perspective of the show. I'm disapponited, I'm afraid that this thing will finish to deprive us of a lot of potential fun. Of course I'm aware that the phone free policy is typical in theatres, here in Italy they do the same. I'm saying this just beacause I'm sorry that the quality of the work is making me love this era so much, but it's like I'm feeling it much less than what I expected and hoped. I mean, I'm an '80s guy, I lived the phone free experience for 20 years and I did not appreciate her shows more or less, neither had a stronger or weaker involvment in terms of personal presence, according to the use or not use of my mobile. It always just depended on the quality of the show. That said, I still wait for the opening night to finally know about the setlist and see some pics of the theatrical mise en scene ... but then I'm gonna have to wait FIVE MORE MONTHS amalio, cosmicarlo818, Velvet Rope and 4 others

Bat-Fan 1,167
I wish I could afford this but I am poor and humiliated. ☺☺ I guess madonna decided on not relating to the poor so much after all. This show is such an elitist event. Ekans, emanon, bedtimestory and 1 other

madgefan 10,137
I really don't mind if they don't allow people taking photos throughout the whole thing! I'm actually relieved to some extent and as much as I want to feel like I myself won't be able to take a damn selfie inside the venue is not that terrible. I mean, how does one make all the money spent on the show worth it? By paying attention to what's happening onstage and enjoying it. I'm sure we'll get press photos published everywhere and *MAYBE* someone will be able to sneak in and record the concert so fans who are not able to attend can see it. mr00mister
BeepBeepBitchMove 2,006
I personally love this idea that way everyone will be focused and present enjoying a shared experience not on thru a camera lens. I cant stand people who sit there the whole time with cell phone in the air & pushing people out of the way to catch that certain angle. It's just obnoxious. Enrico 15,788
That's what I've suspected for months. After all phones and cameras are always forbidden in theatres. I suppose it may be one of the reasons why she chose theatres (apart from production costs, less dancing etc.). But I could have never imagined that they will also lock your phone and you have to remember your seat by heart! If someone is in your seat (it happens) there will be chaos!! As in musical theatre, there will be some people (only a few) who will film some performances (only a few) to sell it. After all, people can have more than one phone. I will pay for these videos, and we will share. I hope! But I think we have to forget those beautiful Periscope nights spent here at Infinity for the RHT. I almost saw every date live here with @groovyguyalways finding the perfect link! But it's true that people watching the show through their phones are missing much, so it will be a WTGT 1987 experience. We will hear stories of the costumes, setlist, routines and see it only once or twice or on video at the end of the tour. Well then M is so old fashioned. Not everyone is coming to the future.... Fighter 28,797
It's to be expected I guess. Her team should consider uploading some good content from the tour on official accounts for all the fans who already feel left out of this tour... Frank 42,385
I'm happy with this, to be honest. I don't wanna be taken away from the experience of the show from my seat thanks to a sea of raised arms holding phones. No, thanks. 35 minutes ago, Fighter said: It's to be expected I guess. Kylie, for example, usually does this, right?. kesiak, Voguerista and Fighter
Mister_Pop 813
That's great... it only means attending fans will only enjoy even more the show. For those who are not attending the show, I'm sure there will be official footage to show what it looks like to the world... No bad buzz also, only more interest and anticipation towards what you cannot see. Great decision although we totaly expected it to be like that ! Brendanlovesu1 11,877
Some dude on Facebook said it was his right to have his phone on and able to take pics LOL. Personally am glad she is doing this and think its long overdue but I can see the fans complaining about queuing up to get their phones back after the concert is over
Rupert76 1,736
An Italian Facebook group reports this: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2868470153180369&id=108157872544958 According to what this FB group says, the spectators who will be surprised with a mobile phone in their hands will be thrown out of the audience. This news, if true, makes me very sad. I don't see Madonna since 1990, and this time I was thinking to going to the show armed to the teeth like Rambo, with headband, a big cartridge case around my chest with SD cards to replace the full ones on the smartphone, photo camera and video camera, a camera tripods to pur the camera on, a microcamera hidden on a hat or a wig, to film every each second of the show as God commands ?. No, there is nothing to laugh about. I am very sad ?? Kristian_Kasell and emanon

InterlacedGeek 964
when you go to the opera, you switch off your phone when you go to the theater, you switch off your phone when you go to the movies, you switch off your phone when you go to the restaurant with your partner or with your friends, you switch off your phone when you are invited to somebody's place, you switch off your phone do you know why ? Because it is the minimum of respect to have for the artists performing, the other spectators, your friends at the table ... etc enjoy the show through your eyes, live the moment as it happens and not through your phone wake up ! wake up ! dylanlioncourt 5,774
It depends honestly. It's good for those in attendance to be able to enjoy it without people blocking their views with phones but the downside you'll miss certain songs if she does one off being filmed at all. The complaints from fans "Why didn't someone film it!?!!" will no doubt plague boards.

I respect your point of view but mine is different. I hate mobile phones, but if it's not forbidden to use it, I use mine to take souvenir photos, and I always keep it on, even at night, in case someone should look for me for an important reason, having elderly parents who might need help in any time. I keep it on, always remembering the rules of good education. I keep it on even if I attend a concert in the theater if it is not explicitly forbidden. Otherwise I adapt to the prescriptions, even if in my playful tone you have been able to catch rudeness. But this prohibition is a disappointment to me. It is a question of points of view... The important thing is not to violate the prohibitions if they are imposed emanon, jeannvogue, milotjuh and 1 other

somethingscomingover 428
I think this is a great idea! It's so much better to enjoy something without having to worry about taking pictures or videos. The audience will be able to fully indulge in this new tour experience. Also, I do hope she is having it professionally recorded and that she releases it in some form. Voguerista and Bat-Fan
