Confusion About You Can Dance Album

I was playing my CD of You Can Dance and I've noticed something a bit odd, well to me anyway!

The CD version on the back cover says: 

Into The Groove (8:26) but my CD plays 8:05. But I have downloaded a version online at 8:26 and Spotify plays the 8:26 version

The back cover of the CD also says:

Where's the Party (7:16) but my CD plays at 7:36 but I have downloaded a version at 7:16 and Spotify plays the 7:16 version

 

Does anyone know what's going on, are the times different on the vinyl and CD editions or am I going crazy?

Maybe the fact it's a mix and music from other songs overlaying the beginning and end effects the time.

I don't think that's it as they are different on other versions

the US and Europe CDS have different track lenght! it's cut at a different point!

Exactly, the 20 seconds missing from track 6 are added to track 7.

Track 7 of my CD starts with the "Don't-don't-don't..." sample from "Into The Groove" and the "Where's The Party" horns playing for the second time.

Lazyitis is to blame.
And maybe confusion over how long the 'released versions' are supposed to be ?
There's huge swathes of stuff written about her labels not-giving-a-f....
Sounds like they have just bunged anything that kinda looks right out.
CD's having different change-over points for tracks is more of it...
pfff this'll do, sorta thing ??

So they're the same versions, just cut off at different times ?
