They should have not released this video. There is Missy on it, but not Madonna ? That's nonsense. It's like doing a U2 video with The Edge, but without Bono.

People won't never recognise Madonna's voice in the song, because it's too similar to Dua Lipa's voice. Only Missy's voice is clearly recognized, without reading the credits of the song.

The only reason she did this song is maybe it's a featuring again (she loves them since Hard Candy), and it's probably a way to say : "Madame X era is over". But it's not the begin of a new era.

I hope Warner is not hoping this song to be the symbol of a new Madonna era :suffer:

Let's see now if Warner is announcing something or not Sunday or Monday.

I dont understand all the hate the song is having in youtube...

It's the same hate with "Like A Prayer" on the Immaculate Collection. People loved the Album version and hated the remix version, so they wanted the original version on the Immaculate Collection. It's the same thing with Levitating: People want the Madonna & Missy' vocals in the original version because hate the remix.

Interesting to read all of this analysis about why Madonna got involved and how relevant or irrelevant it is.

We all know that she is been always supporting new artists, specially female, either because she relate to them or because she feels an obligation to pave a better way in an industry she admits is ruled by men.

This is Dua Lipa's song in Dua Lipa's album. She is becoming bigger and bigger and has a great year when the industry is suffering. Is someone like Rosalia, with a smart team around her. Dua Lipa said her inspirations for this album were: Madonna, Gwen, Moloko, Missy and other names that are becoming part of what she's coming up with.

This was never about Madonna bringing something new or making her career any better.

Madonna does'nt feel like needs to make a video because is not her product, she is giving a hand to another artist idea.

She did the Britney + Xtina at ther time with the same approach but taking more presence on the spotlight too.

I think she is wiser now and she does'nt need to prove a point. Or maybe selfishness. But It's clear this is a Dua's affair and Madonna being there is like Madonna's singing in Jose & Luis "Queen's English" or Donna's " Just a Dream'.

Her being a feature is what it gives a legacy value.

I respect you opinion and Madonna surely is above everyone alive when it comes to pop music and doesn't need to prove anything, but come on, do you really think that Brtiney, M.I.A, Nicki Minaj, Anitta (not to mention the boys) were invited purely because she wants to support them? Madonna first and foremost is a product, a brand, as everyone is in pop music, and of course her team (or/and herself) thinks about numbers when it comes to featurings (even though it doesn't work at all in the end LOL). Madonna doesn't have any kind of relationship other than work with those people.

If this featuring with Dua Lipa was all about supporting her she would have at least said something about the girl.
