Brainstorming M15

With Madame X gracefully taking her last bow during the Madame X Tour in Paris, it's time for us to brainstorm what would M15 be like, just for fun.

I am guessing a return to pop music but with heavy 80s elements with production from Stuart Price, Max Martin, William Orbit or Jack Antonoff (a boi could dream). The album would start off with fun dance tracks, house tracks and a re invention of the 80s sound with the mix of new modern sound. She would talk about letting loose on the dance floor, being liberated from the shackles of her previous relationships and just showing off and being a bad bitch. Halfway through the album, she'd become reflective and meditative about herself, the world she is in now, her place, purpose and the realization that a tide is up ahead. Out of nowhere, the album would take a dark turn, becoming political, covering the Black Lives Matter Movement, the corruption and other social and political issues. The last two songs must be a slow return to the dance pop vibes of the beginning of the album, with themes of liberation and freedom and the last song would connect to the first song in the album.

The album would have 15 tracks, 4 dance songs, 4 slow and reflective songs, 5 political songs and 2 songs that would tie back to the beginning of the album. NO FEATURES.

Let me know what you think. Any ideas and concepts are always welcomed here. :)

I love the idea of a return to pop music and some heavy ‘80s elements. Personally I don’t think the album should be as political as ‘Madame X’. I appreciate and admire her posts on Instagram about social issues, however I think it’ll start to get really repetitive and alienating if she consistently puts it in the music.

Stuart Price, SG Lewis and Jack Antonoff would all be producers I’d love to see for the next record. I imagine interpolating some ‘80s synth-pop would be pleasing to both older and more modern fans since it does seem to be a rising trend in mainstream music.

You're basically describing the God Control video

From her last post it looks like M wants to go back dancing. As a new album is strictly connected to touring nowadays, I wonder if she is still capable of doing that.

As for me, I'd love her to focus on lyrics. I'd love a mature album with songs like Intervention or Oh father. The writing for Madame X  was very very lazy, with repetitive verses. I am also a little tired of  "get up on the dance floor" songs and I am more into the strong pop melodies of Rebel Heart, hadn't it been ruined in production.

But most of all I hope to hear Madonna's voice again, with no grillz, no vocoder, no autotune.

I love the concept of her doing a mature album again. I really wish she’d do some songwriting sessions with Patrick Leonard for the next album. They always seem to bring out the best lyrics together.

Her and Patrick Leonard would do so well in the next album.

The 80s trend has been around for ages now. I would like if she did something like that, but I still would like to be surprised like I was with Madame X, the eclectic mix of sounds really was fantastic. That's what music is like nowadays anyway, and for someone who releases music every 3/4 years, variety is appreciated.

Truthfully she almost never puts truly "political" stuff in her music. Most of the tracks on Madame X are not really "political". I have no problem with a couple of songs on an album being directly political. And if she did a fully political album it would be interesting.

I'm fine as long as her vocals, songwriting and mastering is good on the record. If she wishes to explore and experiment more as she did with Madame X, count me in. I wouldn't want a simple dance record because she has so much to say given everything we've been going through this past and no doubt, she'd let that go without her take on what she experienced, people she lost and how it's come full circle after years of saying something would happen with the leaders in charge. If there are dance tracks, I'd love for her to get Shep to remix one and give it a vinyl release.

I want her to put her own spin on the 80s vibe. To me, there is more to explore on the production that would really make her stand out from the others and we all know Madonna always experiments to see what can be brought to the table.

When people say an 80’s sound what do they mean exactly? There were a lot of different types of music successful in the 80’s, but generally when I hear the words 80s music I think of synth pop like Human League, Howard Jones, Flock of Seagulls etc.  Madonna never had much in common with that kind of music, so I can’t see her pulling that off.  I think doing an 80s sound would be way too predictable since she was so successful in the 80’s. To me doing a nostalgic sound doesn’t work if you were old enough to do it the first time.
She probably would never do it, but I have always wanted her to do a Beatles like 60s psychedelic pop sound, sort of like Beautiful Stranger or maybe I’m a Sinner.

I feel like it’s time for the third in the

“Like A” Trilogy album title.

The last two albums have been rebuilding albums after Hard Candy and MDNA low points.
The twist here is that Like A Prayer was about her past. I’d like the next one to be about her thoughts on the future. Almost a concept album with The Future as a theme.

Her hopes for her children, her legacy, her country, her thoughts on surviving her parents, commentary on her relationships. The disconnect of human touch and AI. The shift from capitalism to socialism and the battle of that. Globalisation.
Sonically i’d like another world built out of sound a bit like Ray Of Light and Confessions did.

Some of this is a build on Madame X where instruments from around the world are used. A complete melting of cultures where appropriation is placed as a thing left to history in a sort of Mad Max way but not as dystopian.

Good mix of bangers and ballads.
Death to the vocoder. That’s enough now it’s just .... boring more than anything. I respect her love for it but it’s just passé at this point. If it must be used use it as a god replacement. A play on “what do you mean it’s not in the computer” . In the future the computer is God so maybe use the interludes as the digital voice of god and Madonna craves the human voice in the actual songs.

I really like Madame X. I know she doesn’t want to repeat herself but she could expand on the global sounds with more Latin and African sounds mixed with modern electronics.
She hedged her bets a bit on Madame X but putting on some straight up pop and dance songs. What if she went full on with the world and global sounds?

I think she is too far involved in wanting to make 'statements' to the world to just put out a simple dance record like her debut. Not that I want her to repeat herself, but I would like to see her record something that has a similar feel and flare that she did with her first album. A slight of 1980's vibe wouldn't hurt. And please ditch the vocoder effects, Madonna! I don't care who helps her produce it as long as it is kept to a minimum of a few people. No raps, just fun pop, disco and rock like the good old days.

She never did rock, unless you mean before she became famous but her 80s  hit music wasn’t rock.
