I can see it just being an eighteen-track greatest hits to go with the film and help boost streaming numbers. Perhaps a few audio live performances will be thrown in as well if they include things like the Blond Ambition World Tour in the film.

True plus I can see then doing some new remixes for older songs like what Kygo's been doing with Whitney & Tina

If they do that then I really hope she gets Stuart Price for it.

To be quite frank, I could see it similar to how "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" was with portions of her songs or instrumentals being used aside from a proper score and her hits that defined her. As far as a biopic is concerned and having to narrow done certain songs, probably:

Everybody (her demo being played)
Borderline
Lucky Star
Like a Virgin
Material Girl
Into The Groove
Dress You Up
Live To Tell
Papa Don't Preach
Like a Prayer
Express Yourself
Sooner or Later
Vogue
Justify My Love
Erotica
Secret
Human Nature
Don't Cry For Me Argentina
Frozen
Ray of Light
Music
Hung Up

Do any of you not think she’s going to re-record/reimagine the hits in the film? What if the director insists on the actor playing M sing the songs? Or only use TIC as the soundtrack? lol.

I can’t see Madonna just throwing out the usual radio edits for a biopic soundtrack, one that will most likely be campaigning for consideration for awards for both the  film and the music.

I bet if there’s a soundtrack, they may get remixed and a new song thrown in. Then she could attempt to tackle best original song or something. She always favorable in those categories when she tries.

I really think the soundtrack to this film about her Biopic will be THE crystallization of her musical legacy til the end of time.

When future generations look back to who Madonna was or how she changed the world and music, the biopic will be the go to. I think it has the potential to be more accessible in terms of career book ending than The Immaculate Collection and certainly Celebration. The Mama Mia soundtrack, The Queen Soundtrack and the Elton Soundtrack all used some lesser hits that fit the narrative of the story. They also didn't use full versions of the songs throughout so we might get a Soundtrack and a "Best Of" (note I didn't say greatest hits) inspired by the soundtrack and let's be honest. Some of these songs might even be Pre-Madonna songs.

I can also see them using Madonna music as the incidental music.

Papa Don't Preach (Tony shouting at her down the phone) / Live To Tell (as the film theme Music), La Isla Bonita (vacation scene), Oh Father in church, True Blue (Sean Penn falling in love montage) etc etc etc.

Stuff like that

I think I'd like to see.

  1. Burning Up - (Pre Madonna Song)
  2. Everybody - First Single
  3. Physical Attraction - Club Promo performances
  4. Like A Virgin - MTV
  5. Material Girl - Sean meeting
  6. Into The Groove - Movie Career
  7. Dress You Up - First Tour
  8. Holiday - Live Aid
  9. Like A Prayer (Pepsi)
  10. Promise To Try (mom flashback)
  11. In This Life (friends dying of AIDS)
  12. Til Death Do Us Part (divorce)
  13. Express Yourself (Blond Ambition Tour)
  14. Vogue ( Jose & Luis)
  15. Erotica ( Sex Backlash)
  16. Human Nature (defiance / letterman)
  17. Don't Cry For Me Argentina ( evita)
  18. Ray Of Light (Lola)

I really can't see them going much further than that to be honest.

That's a career arc of ambition loss and redemption. I don't see her addressing the Guy Ritchie years

I do hope they manage to get another songs and few songs post Ray Of Light in there too,

  • Don't Tell Me over the credits maybe
  • What It Feels Like For A Girl
  • Music
  • Gambler..maybe for the Playboy scandal
  • Deeper & Deeper...just because Deeper & Deeper really
  • Jump.
  • Causing A Commotion is such a Paparazzi montage poison Penn track.
  • Die Another Day/ Rescue Me might be a good song to display her comeback attitude after the S.E.X. scandal.
  • I really want The Look Of Love to get its time to shine.

Personally I can't wait for the scene when she arrives in New York, walks into her gay first club, hears  ABBAs Gimme Gimme Gimme and runs to the dance floor saying "I love this song". That would be such a clever nod to the future.

I think there should be 2 new songs. One 80s synth pop style and one 90s trip hop. She mentioned on the Instagram live she was listening to Depeche Mode and Massive Attack so something in that vein.

Yes, i think is a good opportunity for M to release a new song or 2
