Original video with the album version. 2º) Like A Prayer (Immaculate Collection DVD Version). This version starts with the album version, changes to the 7'' Version, and at the end changes again to the album version. It's only available on the Immaculate Collection DVD. Also you are missing these: 1º) Express Yourself (Original Video Version) also known as "Remix/Edit with Local Mix intro" (5:01) available on Celebration DVD 2º) Express Yourself (Alternate Video Version) also known as "7'' Remix with Local Mix intro" (4:25) available on The Immaculate Video Collection (VHS, DVD, LD). LAP only on DVD you mean the US release, right? Because here in Brazil both the VHS and the DVD of TIC bring the album version.

me1981 1,358
From Jan 1988 - Just found this from Billboard. Mega Mix video was official and was a joint project between WB and Telegenics. The 11 min version may have been played in clubs but a shorter 7min version that used Where's the Party? aired on Night Tracks the first week of Jan 1988. Not sure if MTV or others played it as it never appeared on their rotation lists printed in Billboard. GhostOrchid
me1981 1,358
For the record here is the broadcast from Night Tracks Jan 1988. It was only listed once in Night Tracks rotation list, so I am unsure if it got much airplay captainjay

So I can understand why they didn't include True Blue and other movie videos but I wonder why they skipped Burning Up.. I know it wasn't a hit but it was still a good video Did Telegenics do anyting else for Madonna?

Not sure if they did more, though I remember someone uploading a couple of music videos here with Telegenics in the title. I somewhat skipped over them. Maybe do a search with Telegenics and it might come up. It may have been Express Yourself, but no idea if that was official. I guess maybe it was. Honestly I found this info by accident while I was searching for other stuff. GhostOrchid
michel.kettermann 3,314
I have a question. On the VHS/LD "Madonna" 1984 the "Borderline" video comes before "Lucky Star". Why do they come in a different sequence on both "The Immaculate Collection" and "Celebration"?

"Lucky Star" was meant to serve as the next single after "Burning Up", but "Holiday" started to get a lot of airplay. Both "Lucky Star" and "Holiday" were released nearly at the same time in the UK, while U.S. just got "Holiday". Unfortunately, "Lucky Star" failed to do well in the UK, but was re-issued in March of '84 and did better. "Borderline" was set to be released as the final single, and the video was filmed slightly before "Lucky Star". The U.S. released "Lucky Star" in August of '84 after the success of "Borderline", which only pushed back the release of her already completed album Like A Virgin. MTV wanted her to perform "Lucky Star" at the first VMA's, but she refused and of course, we all know what happened next.... HISTORY was made! clkelley39

This is what happened: They were both shot around the same time (Borderline a few days before Lucky Star) and were both intended as a promotion for the Borderline Maxi 12" (which contains new remixes of both songs). They were released at the SAME time in the US - Borderline was sent to MTV, and Lucky Star was sent to clubs- in March 84 (the original longer edit of the video is set to the New Mix and was intended for clubs, in the same way as Everybody was. It was never intended to be played on TV, as you can tell by its simplicity, simple dance sequences, background - just like Everybody was). So that was the intended promotion strategy. And then, a few months later they decided to release Lucky Star to radio, and as a separate single. So they cut the original longer video to fit the radio edit and sent it to MTV in August 84, to promote the new single. It had nothing to do with international promotion - other countries just picked either Borderline or Lucky Star as the new single because they didn't have these multiple layers of promotion like in the US. michel.kettermann

They used "Like a virgin" and "Holiday" live and "Promise to try" (montage of the movie scene and album version with the intro cut). I have a video downloaded years ago and it starts with the "Madonna" and "Promise to try" written on a black background (or something like that). The video I watched in Spanish television didn't have it. Maybe the fan made you're talking about is this one. About the one used on Spain, I only watched it in one channel (but several times) so maybe there was made by them and not send as a promo video from Warner, but at least it was aired here to promote "Truth or dare". I have also discovered there is an alternate version of Vogue from Truth or Dare. I don’t know if this is official or if was made by tv stations but it was played on European tv, I have it on a vhs.
