Can anyone speak on the relationship with Rhino Records and the reissued singles? I can't help but notice even on Madonna.com the links are Rhino. They had a press release for Hanky Panky but don't seem to have caught up with the other releases. In my mind I associate Rhino with compilations and legacy releases like the 3CD for the price of 2 packs.

https://www.rhino.com/artist/madonna

From Rhino.com:

Rhino is the catalogue development and marketing division of Warner Music Group. Founded in 1978, Rhino continues to set the standard for excellence in the reissue business it pioneered in both the physical and digital worlds with an emphasis on flawless sound quality, bonus tracks, informative liner notes, award-winning creative packaging, and a strong social conscience. Rhino has also expanded the definition of what a catalogue music company is, as evidenced by the label’s name and likeness representation deal with Frank Sinatra, its multi-faceted relationship with the Grateful Dead, and releasing new albums by heritage artists such as Jeff Beck and Cyndi Lauper. The catalogue of more than 5,000 releases includes material by Led Zeppelin, Eagles, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Aretha Franklin, The Doors, Chicago, Ray Charles, Black Sabbath, John Coltrane, Yes, Phil Collins, The Ramones, and The Monkees, among many others.

So it is part of Warner Music... I think they are handling all those re-releases (vinyls etc) and availability for old singles on streaming services.

Rhino is Warner.

There are not that many remixes from the 80s singles and some of them are already "used" on other editions:

- "Madonna" album on digital includes the 12'' mix of "Borderline" as track no. 2 plus the extended mixes of "Burning Up" and "Lucky Star" as bonus tracks (same as the 2001 remastered version).

- "Like A Virgin" album on digital includes the extended mixes of "Like A Virgin" and "Material Girl" as bonus tracks (same as the 2001 remastered version). The Spotify version also has the extended mix of "Dress You Up".

- "True Blue" album on digital includes the extended mixes of "True Blue" and "La Isla Bonita" as bonus tracks (same as the 2001 remastered version). The Spotify version also has the extended version of "Papa Don't Preach" as track no. 1.

- "Like A Prayer (30th Anniversary)" (streaming only) includes remixes/extended versions of "Like A Prayer", "Express Yourself", "Cherish" and "Keep It Together", plus "Supernatural".

Maybe they're saving the rest for future Deluxe editions, yeah, but who knows. What's left from the 80s?

- Open Your Heart Extended

- All the "Like A Prayer" remixes

- "Express Yourself" remixes

- "Keep It Together" remixes.

Anything else?

I've put a rough list together of all the US Maxi-single original release dates plus the singles not released in the US that have several remixes that may give us an idea of the release schedule if it follows the anniversary dates. I've included some of the Japan EPs as they feature the most mixes but I doubt they will use those, for example 'Like A Prayer' will probably get a separate release.

31st: Keep It Together

February

11th: Don't Cry For Me Argentina

March

3rd: Like A Prayer / American Pie*

6th: Fever*

12th: Bad Girl

I can honestly see us getting pretty much everything from the 90’s and 00’s

a Like A Prayer special edition

and the 80’s stuff will likely never make its way on to streaming, only because they were never released as maxi CD’s in the first place.

If we’re lucky we might get the Japanese Super Maxi CD’s uploaded which would give us the

Everybody (Extended & Dub)

Open Your Heart (extended version)

Gambler ( please god)

Ain’t No Big Deal

Angel (Dance Mix)

Those are the only real big hitters that are left as Who’s That Girl era didn’t get a Super Maxi Cd. I think that’s it.

I’d love some beautifully constructed digital maxis that collected all the relevant mixes of each of her singles even just so her singles legacy and beautiful artworks are displayed but I don’t think it’s realistic.

So! It looks like don’t tell me?

The person who runs her Twitter posts anniversary stuff constantly so I don’t think it means anything to be honest.
