TV producer and notorious asshole Daniel Moyne was Madonna's boyfriend during her Patrick Hernandez era. They remained friends, he was influencial in her often chosing French network TF1 for many of her promo appearances up until 2003.

Not to derail the topic too much, but can someone elaborate on the Secret Garden thing. I’ve never heard anything about it.

During a radio interview in France at the time of the release of Erotica, Madonna was questioned about "fontainebleau" of which she speaks in the song, a magnificent forest in Seine-et-Marne an hour from Paris. We asked her the reason for this reference in connection with her secret garden and she had said that she had had a love affair with a Frenchman named Daniel
