This is just record company greed and exploitation of fans. Record companies can no longer sell $20 CDs that feature 1 hit song, like in the 90's, so they keep reprinting vinyl albums in different colors.

This sort of thing has been going on for decades, especially from huge entertainers who have decades of success under their belts and even those artists who may have only had one or two successful eras who have made huge impacts on our culture.  I wouldn't say it's just to benefit the record companies as the deal with Madonna is also benefiting her as well.  It might seem like Madonna's cashing in, but should we blame her?  Not at all!  It seems to me she's finally realized her new work isn't going to sell like the old work.  That pretty much is equivalent for a lot of artists who had success in multiple decades or have been cultural phenomenons. Specifically Elvis, Beatles and Michael Jackson Estates have constantly been cashing in on their most important works.  The same goes for other celebrity figures like Marilyn Monroe and James Dean.  At least, Madonna is still alive to profit from her own success.  Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Elton John are other artists who are enjoying in cashing in on their previous success.  That's just the way it works.  I don't understand why any fan will complain since they are now finally paying attention to her back catalog.  Madonna took a long time to let the record company celebrate her back catalog, and now she's allowing it on her terms.  And who is to blame her when she is making sure she and her family is compensated while she's alive and possibly long after she's gone.
