3º) The original editions are better because the remasters are too compressed.

They are way too quiet though. The 2001 sound better.

They were mixed and mastered according to what was industry standard at the time. A lot of music was overly compressed in those years. So I wouldn’t class that as a “problem” that needs to be fixed.

No, they are not too quiet. They use the full dynamic range available. The 2001 remasters kills the dynamic range and sound compressed (but not distorted).

Yes, the problem is the industry standard. Again, no one said is a problem that needs to be fixed, but It would be nice. I prefer the vinyl versions without the Dynamic Range too compressed (or digital leaks with the full dynamic range intact). The real problem (heavy distortion) begins with FEL.

PS: And you are misunderstanding me. I love the remasters. The problem is the compression. I would love to listen the 2001 remasters without the dynamic range compressed.

The original master was released on the Vision Quest soundtrack and the La Isla Bonita Super Mix EP.

The streaming version has been remastered at some point but we don't know whether it's a brand new remaster or something done for an older project (like Celebration).

Thank you 😊

My Release Radar playlist has the Extended Dance Mix, I guess both versions were sent

Oh thank you! Then it means NO version was sent before the release. When the label sends one track from a new release that is respected and it's the one on Release Radar. If the label doesn't send a particular one, Spotify automatically puts the one from the release that the algorithm thinks it's better for the user.

literally all i want from this campaign is a rerelease of the erotica album w at least 2 unreleased tracks :dead:

Any album reissue on physical format would have been good - I can’t believe we didn’t get one this year 🥹 and No FEL doesn’t count imo …. I want something unreleased

About the news release of "Gambler" i've just read that it was Madonna's request ! Seems like she's really found a new love for the song !

She must have been like "wtf why is one of my singles not on streaming platforms?". If Madonna herself gives a shit about the state of her streaming catalogue before you do, it means you're doing a shit job lol

Aaaaanyway, why did Madonna realise that Gambler was missing? Is she selecting songs for her tour? Is Gambler on the setlist? 👀

? Asking questions or throwing shade ?

A music catalog is full of specific cases and contract fuckups. Many people are involved and many authorizations have to be given before putting something out. Each time a new format/music media is out, you have to do it again from the start and ask everyone if they're OK with the new thing even if they were OK for the old one.

As far as Gambler is concerned, Madonna didn't fully hold the rights of the song for 35 years and some copyright holders were blocking it for some reason. Many M songs on soundtracks have a special status because they weren't necessarily under the WB deal, but happened on the movie soundtrack label. Gambler was released by Geffen / CBS, which is now a Sony subsidiary. Why they authorized Crazy For You on TIC and streaming and not Gambler is a mystery. Maybe M wasn't particularly interested in that song before working on the re-releases.

And it doesn't have anything to do with the inclusion of the song on any tour. It was on the Virgin Tour already. Live performance and recordings don't fall under the same rights management and procedures.

Did someone here buy Everybody & Gambler as files ? Do they sound different than the streamed versions ?

I always find that hard files sound better than streamed tracks, even in HD, because streaming through devices, especially bluetooth, downgrade the sound in some way.

I didn't buy these ones, but for example the difference between Break My Soul Queens remix from Bey's shop and any streaming service, through my iPhone or my sound system is huge.

Thank you, that's want i meant implicitely because i've always found that there was a big difference between my album files i bought and i own and the same ones i listen to on streaming services when i don't have access to my files. Depends also on the sound card of the device, headphones, speakers and the players. I even hear a diffence in sound quality between Spotify and Bandcamp (the latter sounding better) on the same device. I've never liked Itunes sound either (lacking bass). So i was wondering if played on a good soundsystem and on a different support these remasters sounded better.
