It's always puzzled me until I read an article that said Secret was about hope and believing in a better future. People tend to equate money with happiness yet when she was broke and living in some of the most deprived areas of New York people were able to still find happiness. And the secret to that happiness was hope.

I'm not sure if that makes sense but it does tie in with the video.

Madonna is an artist and has the freedom to be inspired by whatever artists she wants. And if there’s mischief those artists are adults with a platform and legal teams and can take care of themselves. They don’t need randos to stick up for them on the Internet ? . 
And when it comes to litigation it’s shocking how few there are (that we know of) for someone with her massive catalogue. 
Madonna is very cultured and since her pre-fame days has had various sources of inspiration. There’s nothing wrong with that. Any artist with vast knowledge will draw inspiration, since the wheel can’t be reinvented forever.

Also there’s no connection between Heartbreak City and Whitney’s Heartbreak Hotel. By that logic Whitney ripped off Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel ?
