Already a dedicated masterthread here.

This is the generic one, where every new single out is commented.

It is ok that when something particular happens (as you can see from many comments), a special new thread is created.

Of course this somehow splits the conversation, it also happened with the MXT dvd thread and the Paramount trailer thread.

There’s also this

This thread does not refer to the anniversary edition, but was made a month ago to celebrate TB turning 35. We only merge threads with identical subject.

I don't know why TIDAL labels the tracks as "Masters" when the files are 44100 Hz/16 bit (CD quality). For me, a master is 96000 Hz or 192000 Hz and 24 bits. Maybe they want to say that the FLAC files are created directly from the masters.

For example, on TIDAL the "Master" of Madamex X is 44100 Hz / 32 bits (Float). But in this forum uploaded a real "Master" version at 88200 Hz / 24 bits (I don't know the source of this version, maybe from HDtracks.com).

About your question, I only know that HDtracks.com sells legally the 192000 Hz / 24 bits masters of "Madonna", "Like A Virgin", "True Blue" and "Who's That Girl" since 2012. I don't know any story of a fan ripping the master tapes. As far as I know, Warner wanted to release a "Super Audio CD" or "Blu-Ray High Fidelity Pure Audio" version but at the end they didn't do that (maybe because both formats born dead) and that is the reason why those masters are available to buy in HD. Anyway I don't know it this is real or not.

I didn't realize there is a Hi Re edition? I just downloaded it and its 16 bits. All of them. I listen to some of them and they dont sound like they are vinyl rips for those tracks we could only get on vinyl before I have No Idea what they have done to it but so far I actually think it sounds ok. ?‍♂️ But once again the thing we really want like the 7" open your heart remix and 7" La isla Bonita mix are not even here. It cant be due to any kind of rights issues the extended remixes are here and its just an edit of that.

The remix edit of true blue finally sounds like it came straight from a good source. So that's something I guess.☺

Its just so frustrating to me. Just give us what we want, take my money!

But they are lying about LAV being 192/24. The frequencies cut at 44/16.

So I would like everyone's opinion on this release. Can anyone tell the difference between this new release and another?

Now here is Papa Don't Preach. I wont tell you guys/Girls/Whatever which, do you think is the cd Rip From The 2005 Edition Or The 35th Release that just dropped. I wont tell you what which is which but listen to them both. They have the same running time and we will see who can actually tell and is it worth buying these Japan Editions anymore.?‍♂️??

Yeah, "Like A Virgin" is a digital recording 44/16 (or 44/14). Some people claim that Warner transfer an "analog" copy of the album for the 192000 Hz/ 24 bit version instead the "digital" master. I really don't know. So in this case, the original CD could be a perfect copy of the original digital master.

TB 35 from deezer the sound is pretty crap for the lp tracks as compressed to death... All 9 tracks have clipped sound... Only the remixes are safe from this...- whereas someone said that elsewhere that the album tracks were decent but hey who cares for the album when we got the HDtracks 24bit huh? And guess the best CD is made in Japan.

There's only 1 file in there: Papa Don't Preach (2). Were there supposed to be two?

We are in 2021. People wants louder files for their cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc. We are slaves of the "Loudness War" in music.

But wouldn’t an analog version have uncut frequencies?
Also why is Warner acting like Madonna had only 3 albums and the WTG soundtrack?

Why aren’t the rest of her albums available in HD???

Should we post it here?

(2 - the only file - is the 35th Release I think! Anyway, if the Japanese 2015 release is the 2001 remaster, it's fucked up anyway haha).

Nile Rodgers confirmed LAV was recorded on a Sony 24-Track PCM 3324 DASH digital multitrack, through an SSL E-series console, and mixed to a Sony PCM F1 two track 12-bit deck.

Also stated on the linear notes, "fanatically recorded digitally on Sony equipment".

The frequencies are cut. This picture is from a vinyl recording at 192000 hz / 24 bit and you can see perfectly the cut at 20000 Hz (the rest are vinyl noises).
