In my experience, there are only 4 sure-fire Madonna songs that work in any setting; straight, gay, mixed, alternative and mainstream.

Hung Up, Burning Up, Gambler, Impressive Instant, Nobody Knows Me and Get Together you might be able to get away with as well, along with Dress You Up, Who's That Girl, Causing A Commotion, Like A Prayer, Deeper And Deeper, Lucky Star, Holiday and Open Your Heart. It really depends on the segment/sequence it's played in. For example, you could get away with Express Yourself in a sequence that mixes MJ's Bad, Prince's Batdance, Whitney's I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Cher's Turn Back Time. Like A Virgin with Billie Jean would keep people dancing as well.

Straight men generally don't know what to do when Vogue comes on.

I've said "many straight people ran away after EY and Vogue". And that is true because all the straight macho fans I knew, ran away from those singles and the Erotica era. I've never said that those straight people (or new straight people) returned or not with ROL or Music because I was talking about the 1990 era. They call the Ray of Light era "the second coming" a reason...

On my sets of last year, during a worldwide streaming for Diesel Pride party, I played the Levitating remix and people reacted really well from their houses. But yeah... I'm talking about the gay community haha. 

I decided not to DJ for straight people anymore back in 2019. They only want reaggeton and trap.

My friend provided the dj a playlist at her wedding and we included the Sticky & Sweet version of La Isla Bonita....at first it was a little confusing for people but it did go down a storm and everyone was up dancing. Its so uplifting

Lol and i would add they just dance to popular music they know and that they hear on the radio.
