it's a side project from a no-wave/punk band called "Sonic Youth", i read somewhere that she knew about it, but didn't care. They have a song called "Madonna, Sean and Me" from the 1986 "Evol" Album. They used to criticize mainstream culture, but at the same time seem to like Madonna for some reason.

Sonic Youth is a well-known 90s band. This beautiful piece of art, and I am not talking about the music but Macaulay's incredible face:

Sonic Youth rock ?

Iconic in every sense of the word and a huge influence on many artists. Their importance cannot be overstated. The "Goo" album is perhaps their best known. "Sunday" used to be played near the end of Saturday night clubbing at the alternative clubs we used to go to. Ha, Madonna wishes she could play guitar like Kim Gordon! Here's Kim and Courtney.Courtney-Love-and-Kim-Gordon.jpg.a96cd20e76d718b4ad865f9be810263c.jpg

In this link there's an audio interview with Josh Braun, who founded a band called Spinal Root Gang in the early 80s. This is the no-wave band that Thurston Moore mentions in his article about her. At mark 22:50 he talks about how he met Madonna at the Music Building and ended up collaborating with her:

Funnily enough, it says everywhere that he shared an apartment with Madonna and her friend Janice Galloway for a while and that's when they collaborated (even that Janice introduced them), but he explains that actually Madonna moved in with his father, without knowing it when she rented the room. He describes the song 'We Live in a House', which has been in Madonna's list of unreleased material for ages.
