Why is everyone freaking out over this remix like it’s a new major release?
It’s just a little project she did on top of a bunch of other things she’s working on.

You all act like you are forced to listen to this. The best way to express your dislike is to ignore it and move on.

Most likely because Madonna has been promoting it for months and even is making a video for it... just as if it was a major release ;-)

Given how successful it was on streaming she’d be a fool not to promote it.
Not everything she does has to be targeted at her loyal fan base. This is meant for a new audience.

70.694 streams debut on Spotify on its first day (Thursday). With the push of Release Radar on Friday, it should add 150.000-200.000 minimum more with yesterday's streams. A strong start.

Up to 227.930 streams now in 2 days. The original "Frozen" remix is now 33 M and her monthly listeners figure a new peak: 20.223.587 (#178 worldwide).

Now this is the great definition of being "smart". Ladies, take this man as an example.

The remix is a smart promotonial move  'cause she is  clearly focused in increasing her streaming platform numbers. It´s working:  She has 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify (huge number if you see other artists from her generation). It´s 2022: Streaming music is everyhting (Spotify, Tik-Tok, Youtube) . No more radio and buying physical releases.

Remember the days when M was saying she could never perform Vogue and Material Girl again? I bet she had a different vision than this for herself....

Yeah, that was in 1998, right? And she was singing them again in 2004 on RIT, it's not like she's all about the past suddenly just because of TikTok.

It's been 25 years, if she's moved on I'm sure you can do it too. :cute:

The arrogance in her tone back then

To be fair every HUUUGE artist go through that phase of not wanting anything to do with her first huge hits (or hits). They want to move on and not be attached to that part of their journey. It happened to Prince, it happened to Kylie, it happened to some of the solo Spices... They all come back eventually when they realize 1) they're great songs, to begin with and 2) people love them! And it's all about expressing themselves, yeah, but also connecting with people, in the end.

It took Madonna a flop album ("American Life") to go back to them, though

Yes and there is a moment also when pop music artists, after achieving big success, think they are above all, the audience, the industry..they forget that what they have to do is great pop music and are not here to be preachers of the highest morality or have to show us the way to live and all of that. A litlle bit of a flop here and there put them in their place usually.

You forgot "in my opinion"

And since your opinion is MDNA is her best album...well...your opinion is not much...in my opinion :)

Of course we can't trust Madonna to still stand by certain things we've thought about her.

It's been said here that she's now beyond any chart and statistic and I'm pretty sure she has implied it herself. Now here she is posting new stories every day of Frozen's new peaks on the charts.
