I wish Sorry and 4M went viral as well, they deserve it more! Even tho the fact people stream the short edit of 4M over the perfect album version is terrifying. This lack of taste haunts me in nightmares

It's probably cause the "Celebration" edit of "4 Minutes" was the one included on all 00 playlists, etc.

The fact that any old song of hers can suddenly became trendy again is exciting! Who knows how many trap remixes we'll have in the future!  Joking, joking.

But that's why streaming is important, especially for a catalogue as vast as hers: songs can have a new life, keep generating income and be discovered by a whole new audience that didn't grow with them when they were originally released. It's all a win-win.

It depends on the label. Independent artists need thousands of streams to get proper money from it but the majors (and Warner is one of them) have better deals with Spotify to let them have their catalogues (and Spotify need the big names too). We don’t know the details but surely the “Frozen” thing is making good money for Warner and Madonna.

Well I think it's true. Can't think of any other female artist with such big numbers on each decade? I just checked Whitney and none of her 00 tracks are above 50 M on Spotify.
