I'm pretty sure it was widely known to be Naomi's toe all along. I've never been under the impression it was anyone else's since the album came out when I was 14. No great surprise. I guess new fans who weren't around then renewed the speculation.

That is totally not correct. Naomi was present only at the photoshoot at the Miami mansion where Madonna was wearing the long hairpiece.

The toe sucking photo is part of the earlier set done in New York at Steven Meisel’s studio. It’s part of the set with the nipple biting, ass licking etc.

Like I said, I’d always believed that toe belongs to Tony Ward until I read The Sun’s article clipping on a fan’s IG, as confirmed by Madonna’s then publicist Barbara Charone.

That article is very unreliable. If it was supposed to be a secret why would madonnas spokesperson reveal the information. This is The Sun and they didn’t even spell Naomi’s name correctly.

I’m sure if this was the case we would have seen at least one other photo of Naomi in the studio but there’s none.
