I get it, it's not the most inspired release.  But people are acting like we've been waiting for ages to hear specifically about this release, and holding it up to other artists full album reissues.  Some people are even starting to question if this is what the entire reissue campaign is going to be like, and I just want them to take a Valium and a much needed vacation.

But again, it's not entirely on them. They have been waiting ages for unreleased stuff and this seemed like it was unreleased stuff. I wasn't jumping for joy, but I was interested - more so than in FEL lol. The partnership was announced over a year ago and nothing all that exciting has come out imo and this seemed like it could be actually new. FEL was cute, but there was nothing new and even the packaging was pretty lazy (the same pic 5 times lol).

And I'm still thinking that someone in that office, Emily included, need to take control or something because it's not good in times of partnership, make people angry because we decided to buy that material. Some people here won't buy the new everybody single. We have like 5 new vinyl releases (everybody is forgotten RHT vinyl) springing everywhere, remixes and new versions in streaming of old songs... and the audience is exhausted, annoyed and now, angry.

On the UK Record Store Day website, Danceteria is listed, under the name "Lisa Powerhouse" with a similar press release to the Everybody one, and the Everybody cover art... interesting but odd - https://recordstoreday.co.uk/rsd-black-friday/lisa-powerhouse/

Lisa Powerhouse is Veronica Electronica's less creative alter ego!

I think she's Canadian!

I have zero photoshop skills, i just looked for "madonna everybody logo" on Google and used an online background remover. I usd another pic from the Peter Noble session, a variation of the Erotica toe sucking pic and Queerdonna. It was done in 2 minutes tops.

There's something a bit Walking Dead about that toe sucking pic now. Zombiedonna!

We have been trolled. We saw the Danceteria name yesterday and make dreams without nothing. They just slap in our faces. That's it. Anybody recall that it's RSD and it's not place to release something special like the sire demo. If the danceteria would have been released, it would be worth more than a re-release boxset for collectors, and it would have taken from new material for the real limited edition. Or worst, get the same.versions in the boxset and anybody buying it.

Right?  People are losing their shit over the wrong title listed on a leaked RSD list and acting like M spent months building their hopes up just to dash them with a cackle and a booty clap.

Like that. The release it's crap but the thing is like this.

And  I will not expect more releases this year. The FEL annoucement, if I remember well, only talk about the WTG EP, YCD celebration, everybody anyversary and more things to be annouced, a.k.a #soon

I’m not going to post AGAIN the press release, people should learn to read.

Anyway for all of you that “oooh Madonna is bad, Mariah is doing an anniversary album with 8 brand news bonus tracks”, these  are the bonus tracks:

13. Whenever You Call
14. The Roof (When I Feel the Need)( feat.Brandy)
15. Butterfly (Live from The Late Show with David Letterman)
16. My All (Live from VH1 Divas Live)
17. Fourth of July (Acapella)
18. Outside (Acapella)
19. Butterfly (Amorphous Anniversary Club Remix)
20. Honey (Another Taste of Honey David Morales Remix)

Basically two new remixes and a duet with Brandy. That’s the new stuff.

People in here really be defending any and every money grab these business people put out. The reason there’s never been an unreleased collection yet, why put the energy into that when fans will gobble up recycled trash.

We have people in here writing damn THESIS PAPERS tryna act like they aren’t upset

Once again, I'm happy for vinyl collectors.

But and what about other stuff? Cds, DVDs, books, boxes, calendars, etc?

I like the covers of deluxe FEL and this new Everybody, but we have to agree that they are very amateur-ish.

The content of FEL inside is a deception. Even not a proper sleeve for each vinyl, but only a cheap print with the same pic of the cover in different color backgrounds.

I'm afraid the deluxe re-issues could have this cheap kind of treatment too. Hope I'm wrong.

Well I don’t think most people knew this and I’ll retract my statements if there is no new content. Though she did just release a 15 track unreleased songs album last year

What were you expecting, exactly?  I know a lot of people are moaning that it's not the Sire demo or whatever, but let's think about this logically here.  We know that the plan for each album reissue is to make them into box sets with rarities and unreleased tracks.  Now, pretty much anybody knows that, especially for the first album, it's not like she recorded a ton of songs and narrowed them down into an album.  She more or less had 9 songs, with "Ain't No Big Deal" being the leftover.  Which means that there probably isn't a ton of material for the first album that hasn't been released, just some alternate versions of the songs on the record, the unreleased versions of "Ain't No Big Deal", a couple live performances, and the Sire demo.  So she's being smart in not releasing a quarter of that stuff early for a niche Record Store Day release, when she needs material to drive the reissues.   And really, as far as things go, the reissues campaign has been pretty good to us so far.  We got the Who's That Girl/Causing a Commotion 12", which has never been released in that particular format before, a brand new hand-curated 50 track remix album containing some pretty rare/unreleased versions, a re-issue of an ultra rare and ridiculously expensive picture disc that has been absolutely unattainable for most collectors until now, and now we're getting a 40th anniversary reissue of her first single with a new cover.  Is it the best thing ever?  Nope.  Is it something different and interesting and limited edition, something that fits into the anniversary/reissue celebration?  Sure is.  And honestly, for as cool as it can be to have something super limited edition, I'm getting tired of having to hope and pray that I both have the funds and the luck to be able to be able to buy some of this stuff, cuz the purchase window is insane on a lot of the releases.  I missed out on the Broken 12" and the light blue Madame X, and I'll probably never own them because those fuckers disappeared with a quickness, and the price on them are astronomical.  Even though the biggest focus of my physical collection is colored vinyl, I'm pretty confident that I will always have those as holes in my collection because "limited edition".  So if there's stuff I might miss, I'd much rather it be a 12" that I already own the music on than to have something that I don't already have and then can't get because it's limited/scalpers.  And just check eBay for the prices of the Finally Enough Love box of you don't know what I'm talking about.

Honestly, who's going to read this wall of words? Learn to form paragraphs.

FEL was based, I think, more on the fact that IDSIF was recently named her 50th #1 on the dance chart.  It makes sense for that to be released as a dual purpose kinda thing--a celebration of the recent 50 milestone, and as an intro the the reissues project.  I agree it's not the most exciting thing, but it's a decent way of saying, "Hey, remember all these awesome songs I've put out?  Well there's more where that came from".  And, yes, she probably means #soon.  But really, think about it.  She decides to do the reissues.  So they announce it, knowing there's a year till it really becomes the 40th.  In the meantime, there's that milestone, so they do WTG on record store day, with FEL shortly after.  Instead of letting the 30th anniversary of Erotica go unnoticed, they rerelease an ultra rare picture disc, with the knowledge that they can save all the rare and unreleased stuff later with that albums reissue.  Then, to get the ball rolling, here's a low key Everybody.  Nothing new, so they can keep the rare stuff, a new cover so people who are into that sort of thing can get excited, pretty easy to skip if not.  I just think it's kinda disingenuous to get upset and disappointed in the whole process already, when it's only been about 10 months since the initial announcement of the reissues, and in that time alone we're getting 3 special 12" releases, as well as a multi-disc remix album.  All before the first real reissue.  It's just really crazy to me the levels of meltdown in the face of that.  I'm impatient too, but FFS, ya know?
