But Club78boy has bought the Erotica tape from this seller and said it's legit. The fact that the handwritting is the same is normal, they come from the same person. He probably made copies on tapes from his own tapes and wrote the titles. I believe people who buy those tapes ask him snippets before buying it considering the price, and if he was selling fake tapes at that price, buyers would report him immediately and his account would be closed.

Ok, here's my "review" of the tape: 1. Erotica - this is the final, polished version of the demo we know from the LOC tapes. 2. Waiting - sounds very much like the album version but with many changes. more samples of "Waiting... For You" throughout, Completely unique vocal ab libs towards the end. This also fades out (if memory serves the final has a piano ending) 3. Rain - Very close to the final album version except this has the double verse at the end "stand out on the mountain

I'm kinda surprised that the seller has had literal rarities on his person for years. Was he some kind of engineer who worked with Madonna, or someone whom she trusted enough to give him something as rare as this?

Several options, or he was an engineer who worked with her, or he is close to someone who has worked with her, or he is a collector who owns very rare stuff and needs money so he sells a part of his collection, etc etc...

Just because 1 thing was legit does not make the rest legit as well. The fact that the same handwriting is there on both tapes is suspicious considering they're from two completely different years/eras. The 'Erotica' one had different handwriting, for example. But to each their own, I was just intrigued by the oddity :).

but it's not suspicious if the same person made new copies on new tapes. the tapes aren't necessarily originals from the album sessions

Mathew Rettenmund seems to believe these items come from one of Freddy de Mann daughters....even though there's not only Madonna stuff on his page, there's Prince too and other Warner and Warner affiliate labels artists plus there are also promotional stuff like posters....could really be an ex Warner exec or a member of his family selling stuff they found in his garage hahaha.

Not realistic. This kind of sellers seek a fast and very oriented instant sale. The interested buyer must have all the money ready on his cart. There's no time to organize a crowdfunding (it takes time) and he won't bother waiting dealing times. Also, unlikely he has a wishing well of tapes, there is always a random and causal selection of materials.

Hope that beside the garage, demos are still to be found in the archives so that they can use them for the reissues...
