Are you serious with this???  This is Madonna we are talking about.  The woman who refused to quit her last tour when she was in immense pain.  The woman who is dying to get back on the road again.  A woman who has spent 4 decades touring with more than less an impeccable record in putting a show together and touring without cancelling much up until MXT.  And that was mostly due to her health.  No offense, but I find it weird how some come up with such pessimistic ideas based on a very few mishaps in her career versus the 40  years she's been quite successful.  Yes, she will post on Instagram and Tik Tok still.  This is how celebrities promote their work these days.  Don't you worry though, she will put the most spectacular show together that you'll ever see!

It doesn’t have a video and it’s a single from a highly forgotten flop movie of hers. Out of all the singles she released from that era, it’s easily one of the bottom 2. Burning Up, alongside the rest of the singles from her debut have somehow managed to be more remembered.

Angel, Gambler, Causing a Commotion, The Look of Love, Oh Father, Dear Jessie & Keep It Together are the 80s singles that are the most forgotten. Oh Father may beat out the other ones though cause of the music video and its inclusion on Something to Remember.

Rescue Me was a huge hit where I live back in '91 on Detroit radio. I used to come home grade 8 during lunch and hear it on the top 10 countdown every day for weeks. And I remember they played the Alternate Single Mix (which I didn't prefer), but regardless. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It doesn’t have a video - yet the the tv channels still played a live video clip non-stop that Autumn such was its brilliance. That live video turned me into a stan. Anytime it came on the tv, I was transfixed by her stage presence, the power of her delivery, the way she moved her body, her raw vocals.

Out of all the singles she released from that era, it’s easily one of the bottom 2 - sure, more of a mathematics issue though : Who's That Girl / Causing A Commotion / The Look of Love. 

What you have neglected to remember about Causing A Commotion was that it was released to radio (in Europe at least, not sure where you're from) when the WTG tour arrived in August '87. Madonna Mania was in full swing, her first tour on the continent. She was on the cover of newspapers every day, made the evening news just by going out jogging and guess what was being pumped on the radio every hour of every day???

Also, it reached the top 5 in the following countries: USA , Canada, UK, Denmark, Belgium, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Finland, Netherlands... so it can 100% be considered a hit.

It may be 'forgotten' or buried in the depths of her vast discography, but that does not equate to 'deserves to be ignored' or was 'just a frivolous bit of fluff' as some people seem to think. It is imprinted deep in the memories and emotions of a whole generation of Euro kids who were left gasping for breath in the Madonna whirlwind of 1987.

I've never heard of Causing a Commotion until I started visiting M forums. I understand that it's a gem for the 80s fans (specially when it came out), but I guess that for the rest is somewhat an obscure song. Still a banger tho, but not something that I would connect to Madonna when I think of her “greatest” hits.

I just can’t at people saying Causing a commotion is an 80s forgetful nothing from her back catalog, next you’ll be saying Frozen on fire and Material Gworlll are massive hits and deserve a place on the set list.

Its been sung on two tours. More than a bunch of her stuff.

it was a US number 2 a UK number 4 and sold more than Express Yourself, Cherish, Dress You Up, Angel, Open Your Heart in the UK and most of her 90's singles. I think unknown is a bit harsh. All this from a second single with no proper video from a flop film.

I never need to hear Hanky Panky live again. fun by completely unneeded on any tour. REinvention was a major troll moment and actually one of the most WTF wheelings out of an old song she has ever done.
