In the 80's and 90's not all concerts had sales reported, so the gross is calculated only from the reported shows. Also, some numbers only list North America so we need to compare full worldwide gross for the entire tour.

Girlie Show played bigger venues, so more people were able to attend. 1.2 Million has been reported as the attendance for GS, while DW had only about 750,000.  Though, I suspect these aren't totally accurate since I don't think all concert sales were reported for GS, so it is most likely even more.
