Madonna's looks transitions

Most of Madonna's looks change have been sudden and totally unexpected, however i've noticed that there were some very moments that looked like a "look transition", a mix between the previous look and the next. it could be fun to post them here ! I start with those two :

This thread is the biggest flop of my career on Infinity. I should consider a 'make a setlist" thread to make a succesfull comeback....

Express yourself performance at 1989 MTV awards was very interesting performance for Madonna fans.

Madonna performed the vogue dance for the first time at that awards.

Watch from 4:20~

 

1. Express yourself performance at MTV Awards aired on September 6, 1989.

2. Vogue single release April 5, 1990

3. Blond ambition tour stared April 13, 1990

You can see which parts of the performance survive the actual BAT performance and which parts of the performance have fallen off through this performance and which part goes to Vogue performance. It's very interesting transition for her fans.

Absolutely. That performance has always been "apart" for me, very like a "transition" performance, look and choreo wise. There were elements from the Who's that girl tour ; the black corset witn the black pants which is basically the costume from "Open your heart", also the beginning of the performance where she is seen in shadow behind a white screen posing on the chair, exactly like the intro of the OYH performance on the WTGT and yet there are also elements from the upcoming era ; the remix of Express Yourself especially the intro wich is musically the same as the intro of tte BAT and also as you mention the premiere of the Voguing choreo ! And i'd say that the hairdo is a mix between who's that girl tour and BAT curls !

Ok so mine is a bit subtle but I have always loved 1997 M style. When the controversial post Evita bangs/ fringe started to grow out. Sometimes the red lip but more and more just bare/ fresh faced/ post Lola glow. And the look slowly became more grungy or ~pre raphaelite~ until she showed up at the MET Gala in that Versace galaxy print I was obsessed with. '97 was also a time of course where we only had magazines where you might get a paparazzi shot of her or some party she went to. So it was very exciting to see it slowly unravel. Magical time.

You said it... I get excatly what you mean about only getting those party paparazzi pics on magazines and it was food for soul for weeks ! I would go back to that without a second though, especially that very period (around 1997) that you've posted about... Magical.
