If you thought the titles on Anna Delvey’s bookshelf were concerning, just wait – the infamous grifter (real name: Anna Sorokin), who was released from jail just over three months ago and remains under house arrest, will now be filming a new reality show from her East Village apartment.

On 25 January, it was announced that Delvey had landed her own unscripted series, titled Delvey’s Dinner Club. According to the press release from its producers, its purpose will be to allow her to tell her own story via “what’s already become one of the hottest tables in town – invitation-only, intimate dinners at her home”. In attendance? “A Delvey-invited group of actors, musicians, founders, socialites, journalists and other esteemed guests [who] will join her each week around a private-chef catered table replete with candid conversations where no topic is off-limits – including Anna’s experience within the criminal justice system, her strategy to rebuild her image and her plans for the future.”

Alongside conversations around the dinner table, the upcoming show will also feature interviews with both Delvey and her guests. In an interview with Page Six, the former shared a list of her dream guests, which included Madonna; Elon Musk; Marina Abramović; Ottessa Moshfegh; the secretary of homeland security, Alejandro Mayorkas; the former secretary of state Cyrus Vance; crypto CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (who is also currently under house arrest for fraud charges); and Moneyball and The Big Short author Michael Lewis, many of whose books were featured in the reading list Delvey recently shared with Vogue. Whether or not any of the above would accept an invitation remains to be seen.

For Delvey, it will be an opportunity to reclaim the narrative in the wake of Inventing Anna, Shonda Rhimes’s account of her exploits, which was adapted from Jessica Pressler’s New York Magazine article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People”, and largely told her story from the perspective of her victims and the journalist pursuing her. “There’s nothing like the experience of bringing together a curated group of friends to share life stories and enjoy a great culinary experience,” Delvey noted, in a statement. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with Wheelhouse [Entertainment] and [the production company] Butternut to bring my vision to a wider audience and share a glimpse of the real Anna Delvey.” Meanwhile, Butternut’s CEO Courtney White added: “Delvey’s Dinner Club will reveal the actual woman behind everything we’ve read and watched about Anna. We believe she will defy viewers’ expectations.”

This is, of course, only the beginning of Delvey’s comeback tour: she is currently writing a book about her experiences and, in February 2022, signed a deal with Bunim/Murray Productions to star in a docuseries about her life after prison. So, can she succeed in reinventing her image? The jury’s still out – but we certainly can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing in Delvey’s Dinner Club.
