Madonna is the new face of the Versace spring/summer 2015 collection, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

The 12-page portfolio is set to break next spring in magazines including Vanity Fair and the American, French and Italian editions of Vogue.

Donatella Versace said…

Madonna says it best herself: She is unapologetic. She is her own woman, a role model who shows other women how we can do what we want, and get what we want, and do so for all of our lives, with no compromise.

Donatella: "Madonna is the Greatest Icon in the World"

"It's always such a thrill wearing Versace and living the creativity and passion that Donatella has put into this collection" Madonna commented.

"Madonna is one of the true Versace icons. I am so excited to have her as the face of Versace S/S 2015. Not only she's a dear friend but also today's strongest artist and symbol. This is the fourth time she appears in a Versace promotional campaign. The campaigns embrace three decades and saw their beginnings in 1995, testifying to Madonna's identity as the greatest icon in the world."

Madonna One-Ups Her Topless Magazine Spread With New Versace Campaign
If we’ve learned anything about Madonna over the years, it’s that she’s never been one to keep things low-key. We got a reminder of this when her recent topless Interview magazine spread blew up Twitter this weekend. But, brace yourself, Internet, because Madge is at it again.

After 10 years, the superstar has returned as the face of Versace’s spring/summer campaign, proving that, at 56, she hasn’t lost an ounce of cool. As creative director Donatella Versace told WWD, “Madonna is one of the true Versace icons,†and she exemplifies the brand's glamorous badassery here perfectly.

The stark black-and-white photos were shot by famed fashion duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (who also shot the Interview editorial) and feature Madonna donning pieces like a black-leather laser-cut dress, a glittery tube top, and matching bags and jewelry. The clothes are amazing, of course, but (surprise!) it’s the superstar who really steals the show.

Rather than modeling the collection with some strategically placed hair, Madonna opted for her own unusual poses. In the ads she shows off some extremely toned biceps and a focused glare, and, inexplicably, she contorts herself into a hunched position. This very fashion-y pose with buckled knees and flipped-up pinkies may be a tad confusing (not to mention, look very uncomfortable), but between her bleached brows and intense stare, the message comes across loud and clear: Don’t mess with Madge.
