London Record Shopping

Hey!! I've been to London three times already and I'm a record shop nerd. In London I have been to many record shops, it mainly depends on what you're looking for but, most of them are just hipster record stores with overpriced stuff BUT the right place to go is called Music and Video Exchange, you can look up the addresses online, they have two stores, one in Greenwich and one in Notting Hill (they used to have one in Soho as well but it closed last year and the Camden one was closed since 2012, it was glorious). You really can dig crates there and they have a lot of used records in good shape (both vinyls and CDs) and for reasonable prices. Near the Notting Hill one you also have a Book and Comics Exchange in case you're interested, the last time I went they had some Kylie Minogue fashion books for less than ten pounds. Basically I would recommend those two stores, I think the Notting Hill one is closer to downtown but the Greenwich one is more juicy. BEWARE!! There are some hidden stairs to either superior or basement floors where there are MORE records and usually cheaper. Other than that, you might wanna check the Camden fair just for it's a nice place to visit and every now and then you might catch a good record or two, but that's it. Then as far as new stuff goes, all over London there are HMV stores, which is their Tower Records, they are good, but pricey. Let me know what you think when you come back!

Hi David,  there are a few but not as many as there used to be. You can try Sister Ray, they have a shop in Shoreditch and used to have a shop in Soho, https://sisterrayace.tmstor.es/

There is also a market in Spitlefields Market again in Shoreditch on a Thursday there are record stalls there. They also do mini record fairs see this website http://www.oldspitalfieldsmarket.com/events/record-fair-2/

There is also a record fair website showing upcoming fairs: https://sites.google.com/site/recordfairsuk/

Sounds Of The Universe is another shop address is 7 Broadwick St, London W1F 0DA

Reckless Records 7 30 Berwick St, London W1F 8RH

Hope these help and good luck
