I would like to share this amazing piece of Madonna early history with this group.
After months of watching other M groups and pages , ive decided this group is the right place to reveal its story for the first time.

This is 'the' leather vest worn by Madonna in her very first professional video ' EVERYBODY' directed by Ed Steinberg made by Sire records in 1982.
The jacket was worn by M in her entire video and has a great story of its travels through the years since the shoot.
After the video shoot at the Paradise Garage in december of 82 , Madonna and her entourage (Debi Mazar, Erika Bell and Martin Burgoyne ) retuned to their regular hang out at the Danceteria, where the jacket was left in the dressing room, discarded and forgotten.
Shortly thereafter M embarked on her east coast club tour to promote her first single' everybody' which found success and her career blasted off and hasnt stopped since , therefore the jacket remained abandoned at the dressing room never to be returned for.
Shortly after this while at Danceteria the jacket was to be disposed of , a quick thinking managment staff saw the future possible importance of the piece and took it home with him for safe keeping as Madonna's career was starting to take shape.
The jacket remained in his possession until the mid 1980s (around 86) when a close personal friend that worked in the club industry with him asked if he could have the vest for his step sister for she was a huge madonna fan.
After many attempts to obtain it , he finally gave in to the request and passed on the madonna jacket to his friend to give to his little sister.
By 1989 the brother finally had time to visit his step sister in toronto canada and brought the jacket with him from New York and presented it to her as a gift with a letter telling her the story of the jacket, how he obtained it ,from whom and what its significance was.
The brother passed in the early 90s and the sister finally decided to part with it recently after keeping it safe in her closet secret for over 35 years, telling no one.
I was able to track down the original employee from danceteria from the names listed on the original letter and found him living in Brooklyn New York, i sent a photo of the jacket and the name of the brother without mentioning the Madonna connection, he replied his amazement of seeing it surface after so many years since he owned it and verified the story and adding more information of how he obtained it so many years ago as well as moving stories of his friendship with the brother of the little girl and his life working at Danceteria , the famous people he knew there , his friendship with Mark Kamins and doing lighting for Madonnas photos and performances.
The snap on the right side breast is missing still just like it was on the day the video was filmed.
Someday id like to find out a bit more on its history before the video and how it came to be used in the video but that would have to come from Madonna herself .
Now you are the first people to see this piece of Madonna history long since forgotten since 1982.
