Maybe the fans who shit on everything she touches might have something to do with that.

A big Hollywood movie goes through lots of changes, script included. Maybe she got Diablo to make a draft and now other writers will come in.
    No big drama.

I think it comes down to the fact that she knew all her singles would be remixed into Howse Songs anyway, so she can basically do whatever she wants and still get dance music out of it. Just make a playlist of the best Remixes from 90-95 and you got yourself a Howse record.

I'm glad it never happened. The transition from This Used To Be My Playground to Erotica is superb, sonically and visually.
A whole album of Shep and generic dance songs, no thank you. The balance between shep's production and Andre Betts is perfect on Erotica, in fact, I would've like more hip hop, nu jazz and new jack swing on the album. An alternate mix of Bad Girl produced by Andre Betts instead of Shep... yes please!

I think that might have been a possibility had she not recorded "Justify My Love". That song definitely took her down the more spoken word/hip-hop route rather than the house sound. Erotica would have benefited from being released in October 1991 imo. I think house and hip-hop had definitely progressed by the time Erotica was released in 1992.
When I think of the music of 1991, House music was everywhere: Ce Ce Peniston, Crystal Waters, Deee-Lite... I don't think it's a coincidence she didn't ask Steve "Silk" Hurley or David Morales to remix her at the time, she probably saw that as too mainstream or commercial as they were remixing everybody. There were tons of "Vogue" knock-offs back then, both musically and in music videos. William Orbit was more underground as were Masters At Work, who ended up remixing "Erotica". That was always her strength: don't do the obvious.
Erotica has aged better than most of her albums and I think there were an incredible amount of first-rate remixes released from this era, so we we kinda did get the Vogue House album overall, just not as direct.
Remember her saying to Shep "Not every song can be "Vogue"..."

According to Rosie O’Donnell who was on the Hot Takes and Deep Dives podcast, Madonna is looking for a new writer for the biopic script. Perhaps Jeremy O Harris is working on it which would be an interesting choice.

Holy 2000s! Madonna's Daughter Stars in Juicy Couture's New Underwear Campaign
Holy 2000s! Juicy Couture is going back to its roots with an underwear collaboration with affordable underwear brand Parade. Of course, it wouldn't be a true Juicy collab if there weren't any Swarovski crystals involved or the brand's iconic logo visible on the pieces. The supersoft, sustainable underwear features "Juicy" written across the backside of the briefs as well as on the logo waistbands. The collection even comes with a Juicy version of Parade's Instagrammable hair scarf that has "Live Free, Wear Juicy" spray-painted on it. One surprise guest? Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon, who stars in the campaign images.
In a press release, the two brands gave a little background about why they decided to team up in the most Juicy way ever — in the form of a story: "Once upon a time Parade and Juicy Couture set out to create the ultimate collection for nice girls that like stuff. We were inspired by the revolutionary years of the early 2000s when tracksuits were softer, rises were lower, and there was bling on everything. Together, we designed a collection to celebrate the timelessness of brilliant and daring self-expression. A match made in heaven with thousands of sparkling crystals, glamorous jewel-tone shades, and a little bit of velour, Parade & Juicy Couture lived happily ever after."
You can buy the limited-edition pieces in various types of set boxes, which have fun names like "Dude, Where's My Couture?" and come with a scarf and a little velour pouch inspired by Juicy's infamous tracksuits. Keep reading to get a closer look at the campaign images and shop the affordable pieces.

It was confusing to see her release the book at that time and I think most people didn’t understand what she was actually getting at. Was it porn? Was it erotic? Was it suitable for a female pop celebrity to release such a book? Why was she being exhibitionist? Why was she pushing buttons?
Years later, I still love the book and applaud her for being brave enough to hold up a mirror to society.
It was an angry feminist act.

It’s unclear to me if is indeed a full dress or simply a sheer lace blouse. Either way it seems that what Madonna wore in the video is the same piece Natashja Kinski wore for a Helmut Newton photo-shoot in 1983

NowRadiate reacted to MDRA in New Album Thread
This is why I dislike new album threads, people eventually get annoyed and start acting like they're being owed an album and the artist is a b for not delivering it when they want it.
There is literally no official news about any music being recorded. But  because fans make shit up, it ends up like "why isn't she releasing the music that liar said she already recorded?!"

I just realized I've never told this story here!
So last year during the Lisbon leg of the MXT tour, I bought 2 tickets for the weekend shows of January 18/19 with my group of Madonna friends, but the Sunday 19 show got canceled 3h before (and just as I was leaving my house...). We were all devastated, especially me as I was the only one in my group who had bought tickets for 2 shows instead of 3 (they were pricey!), so now I would only see 1 show instead of 2. ?
Cue Monday the 20th and I get a text from a portuguese friend who lives in the USA, saying he was in town for the Tuesday show and wanted to have dinner, I said of course. This friend in particular has some connections in the showbiz world and was telling me he had met Guy while visiting a local palace that day with his wife. Lisbon's social life/circle is pretty small so if you're a native like me, word and connections eventually get around - dinner time comes along and as I was leaving the house to meet him, he says dinner is canceled as Guy had given him Sara's email (Madonna's co-manager) for a free ticket. Guy is usually pretty chill with some fans so my friend then shared it with me because he knew I had my second show canceled. I went straight away to the Coliseu after emailing Sara asking for a ticket and just waited there for 1h30 until approximately 9h30pm, after my friend had already gone inside. 3h had passed and the doors would close at 10pm, so I just thought "ok she's busy and didn't see my email in time", so just took the train back home.
Then, all of a sudden, she replies to the email saying she had a spare ticket in the FRONT ROW of the back section of the floor (the 300€ ones!) under my name on the reception desk and to hurry up because the doors would be closing in 20 minutes. I kid you not, the next 20 minutes were the most stressful of my life - I was already very far away from the Coliseu AND inside a train with just 5% on my phone battery! I immediately got out on the next station and ordered an Uber which took like FOREVER to arrive. Seconds felt like minutes  then it finally arrived and the whole drive there I kept saying to the poor driver "FASTEEERR!". I also realized for the first time in my life that Lisbon has a LOT of red lights which was really annoying. Or maybe it's hindsight bias. Anyway, I finally get dropped off at the end of the Coliseu street with just 2 minutes until closing time and I. RAN. FOR. MY. LIFE. Keep in mind I still had to go grab the ticket at the reception desk under my name.
After running like a bitch and telling my asthma not today, I arrived literally 30 seconds before the doors closed. I go to the desk, grab the ticket and meet my friend inside. Needless to say it was incredible and my seat was even better! The first show I was on the lateral balconies and my view had been a bit limited, but now I was in full frontal view of the stage and much, much closer.
The funniest and strangest thing about this whole story, though? On Monday night, the day before all this happened, I ordered Chinese food off UberEats and a Fortune Cookie that came along with it had a paper inside that said "Tomorrow you can open an important door". I took a pic and jokingly sent it to another friend who's also a fan, saying "I wonder what door it will be!"
He replied "Wouldn't it be funny if it's the Coliseu door? haha"...

Since the ticket was "Friends & Family", I ended up framing it with the fortune cookie paper, so I can tell the story when someone comes over, lol
