I thought it looked weird too at first but once I zoomed in I could see there was nothing wrong. On my phone, the image is smaller and it's hard to make out the outer line of lights (edge of stage) furthest from the camera.
The lights at the edge of the stage near the camera, lead backwards and the line of lights looks like it stops (as can't make put the lights near the back too well) but what I see is a reflected line of lights along side the edge of the stage further back which gives the illusion that the stage looks like it's been edited together crooked, lol. If that makes sense. I know what I mean but don't know how to explain it lol.

A real insider just told me that this films features a brand new concept, they're not using any of the footage from the Sydney shows, instead they recreated the show using The Sims 2 and that's what we're getting

oh no I hope not. Not be be constantly negative but how can anyone rather want a documentary like IGTTYAS rather than the full concert. You want to hear her talking about "the light" and religion? No thanks. And how she feels like a mother to those poor dancers that were so lucky to be chosen by her. Please no! RIT was great and all we got was less than half a concert with heavily edited songs and endless talk about the meaning of life and politics and boring interviews with the dancers. I dont want RHT to join BAT and RIT.

well, The Confessions Tour worked that concept perfectly. Sticky & Sweet Tour was bad.

and I can picture a meeting where the designers have all the artwork done for MDNA World Tour and M stomps in saying "I took this fine ass selfie last night and I like it so much I want it to be the cover".

I'd rather see it all as one release or as a super deluxe edition.

Really only fans will be buying the tour anyways so causal people would probably hate the release of Tears of A Clown and not realize what they're buying or how they can only identify songs like Holiday and Take A Bow.

Same here - sadly i only ever attended GS tour in Wembley 93 -  was so desperate to see BA - even entered competitions to get tickets but didnt win - my main problems with all her tours post DWT - is the sound ? Not enough live instruments - too much backing tracks

Its kinda like the Girlie Show Tour being shot in SD back in the 90s. It's a low end standard. Back then we had square TV sets with crappy image quality so it didn't matter, but obviously now it looks poor. Same will happen with RHT in a few years if the info is accurate.

If it was shot at least in 4K digital it would give the editors some elbow room to correct any problems, like jerky camera movements, and the show would be preserved in higher quality for posterity.

I'm not a huge fan of digital quality in itself, I dont think it's as good as film yet. So we're gonna have to wait and see. I'm more interested in the editing being good at the moment

I think that this tour will be remembered more fondly as time goes on. People didn't adore BA immediately. Didn't like Confessions immediately. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Let's change subject for a second... which evening should be used for the Unapologetic Bitch moment? The last show was awful, I didn't like it at all, so I vote for Gwendoline Christie although for just this song I'd rather have a montage of different shows, including more interesting moments such as Britney impersonator, JP Gaultier, Katy Perry and many more. But I understand this will be one of the most difficult part of the editing process.

Many of you know how I really loved this moment, I even tried to be chosen by dressing myself up like an Unapologetic Dick (with Dick Tracy costume and special tshirt). I even had my picture taken by Guy Oseary in London! I had it all rehearsed, and although I know that I could maybe lose all my words in front of the Queen herself, this is how I thought it would be:

    - M: What's your name?
    - E: It may look like I'm an Unapologetic Dick, but after dancing on stage with you I'm Breathless
    - M: We have a special prize for you...
    - E: My bottom hurts just thinking about it
    - M: ...A banana!
    - E (singing and playing with the banana as a gun): I'm a man, with a gun in my hand

    A real I'm Breathless tribute!

I am fond of the Rebel Heart's album and tour.
But I think that M isn't. Since in an interview she said she was frustrated during the production (about Diplo's lack of seriousness, and her frustration when recording Iconic, the fact that this theme is not her initiative and she struggled to "keep a cohesive sound and creative direction for the album") so I feel like she just want to "get over" this era (ex: the Rebel Heart Tour). I'm kind of scared that since the MDNA era, each song has so many writers (if you know what I mean). I hope this RH's problem won't happen again.
Btw, I love MDNA tour (not the dvd though )

i'm totally with you on this side. we as fans have also made the mistake of only taking care of the stage, the choreographies and the costumes, when the first thing we should focus on is her current band.

i'm not saying they're bad, but as we discussed before, Kevin Antunes's obsession of replicating the album versions is killing the live vibe of her concerts. he says he's respecting the producers original intention, but man! The Girlie Show had versions that resembled the album ones and still they sounded with such power!

some versions were a surprise on this tour (more notably Material Girl and the fan-loved Like A Virgin), but over all, in this show she wasn't trying to surprise anyone anymore.

    (now, some personal messages:

-Brian Frasier-Moore, please add more live drumming to the tour, instead of sampling everything.
-Monte, we've been loving you since 2001. please don't play a solo that looks like "hey, i'm the best guitarrist here", and syncopate with the rest of the band.
-Nicki Richards and Kiley Dean, please, don't just stand there, and if you have ideas to be part of the choreography, say them!
-Dear Kevin Antunes: s t o p the samplin from the original recordings. we need a live show.)

that's why the Rebel Heart performance was the most honest moment of the entire concert: every instrument was real and live only on that song.

This sentence does sum up the show for me as well, unfortunately. We are talking about a performer who was famous for "never doing the same thing" and "if you want to hear original versions, play the CD" and then she does mostly hits that were done on tours of 2004-2012 in their familiar versions. She already ignored the post-1990 stuff on the previous tour and does it again. She does the "Joan of Arc-inspired" theme for the 3rd tour in a row, Spanish-themed segment for the millionth time, cabaret-themed segment for the hundreth time again. It's just Madonna-by-the-numbers which is not something she used to be before the 2010s. The surprise song was the continuation of the request section of S&ST just this time it was not acapella but actual arrangements as well, yet most of the surprise songs were also retreads of past tours. If it wasn't for Take A Bow, a song never performed on tour before, I would not even mention that part at all.

That said, I still can't call the show a mess, it was well-put together, she seemed to be more into it than MDNAT and despite of my complains about same songs and arrangements, the setlist flows better (except Living For Love & La Isla Bonita, WTF?!). For MDNAT they had one good idea about the divorce in the first segment, the rest was bare bones stuff without any concept or meaning. The costumes are also a massive improvement, MDNAT was touted as her biggest show ever and yet those costumes looked incredbly cheap.

I don't hate the Rebel Heart Tour but I guess she is at the phase of her career where she only has to cater to the people who want more of the same and ride the nostalgia wave since she cannot grab the attention of new fans anymore.

The "sections" made no sense, the fashion was hideous and the tour renditions didn't match the mood or the theme of the sections they were placed in.
She chose way too many 80's songs and most of them from one album only, her worst 80's album, LAV.
She once again ignored the 90's and decided to do a lame disco version of Deeper and Deeper as part of the fucking ROCKABILLY section.
She decided to throw in an unnecessary cover song when she has a beautiful catalogue of songs to choose from.
The tour backdrops and especially the interlude were by far the least impressive ones she has ever done.
The closing song was Holiday which is so washed up and I entertaining by now...if she really wanted to spice things up and make career references, she should have replaced La Vie en Merde with Take a Bow and close the show with Everybody (with a medley of other 80's songs incorporated) instead of wasting the medley for that horrible Latin rendition of Dress You Up.

The tour just didn't seem well thought-out and there is evidence that a lot of things were changed for the final setlist. She even scrapped an entire interlude video for Sex and only left three frames from the video in it.

It was a mess overall. Too many things she has already done, sing renditions we have heard before and barely any good song surprises (except for that surprise slot).

According to her manager Careese, by contract, the RIT DVD couldn't be released until 6 months after IGTTYAS was out. Since that was well into the Confessions era, the 2004 ship done sailed and I'm sure their focus was on the Confessions Tour.

I'm pretty sure this was the case with BA. Pioneer owned the rights to have it exclusively on Laseridsc before it was allowed on VHS. By the time the contract expired, Erotica/The Girlie Show and maybe even Bedtime Stories was already among us.

    Timing is everything. Contracts suck.

I thought i should create a tour that goes through the evolution of Madonna. Each section is one of the decades she has been in the music industry.
