To be honest, I don't get all the hype this track gets. It's got a nice beat, sure, but it's not THAT great. It's got nice lyrics, but it's not ROL's most inspired moment. It's a nice, less abstract fun moment for the album, that sounds nicely done, but isn't much better than that. Top 50? Truly underrated single, tbh. Even if it gets performed often, we forget about it all the time. A fantastic dance cut from a fantastic album, this was the first (and inferior) track to sample Vogue in it. It even has a flamenco break in it! I don't how they made it work, but yas! This track alone was enough to make me reconsider 80's Madonna entirely. Her voice in this song is absolutely gorgeous, and the lyrics are everything that La Isla Bonita 2.0 should be. Don't get me wrong, I adore this COADF track. The synths that come in after the first chorus are excellent, and the strings are really nice. The verse lyrics are fantastic, but the overall meaning of the song is a little difficult to grasp. American Life's crowning achievement and best song. This stripped back folk song with the backing of a gospel choir is sweeter than a spoonful of honey. Madonna feels wonderfully natural here, and the result is awe-inspiring. Sadly, even with all the high rates, it wasn't enough to get it in the Top 30. This song. The infamous one performance only Erotica single. I lover the lyrics here. The production is really nice. Her vocals deliver really well, but in the end, the song just isn't too special. I was super worried that this wouldn't make it to the Top 50 for a minute, and I had the results. Hard Candy's shining moment, honestly. This electro ballad is one of the best productions from 2008, and the lyrics are awesome. Manipulated vocals done literally flawlessly. A great dance number from Music (that should've gotten that single release, btw) that has been underrated by everybody. Why didn't this get performed on S&S? The lyrics are quite ridiculous, but that's what makes it so... impressive. It's production is slick, and the vocals are modified, which is awesome. I knew this track a was loved, but I never realized it was THAT loved. It's got great production, and it's lyrics are delightfully abstract. How did this not get a single release? Oh, it's the best thing from Something to Remember without question. The quiet, subdued desire that burns along with the drums breathe this old classic a new life. Something fresh, never done before, and nothing else after. Sad to see it go. This was the one that almost got away. The guitar buildup into the synth driven breakdown was everything I wanted from Madonna. This song has bittersweet lyrics, and the best vocals on MDNA. Mirwais knows how to end an album. I love me some glitch, and this delivers it in droves. The lyrics portray this sad scene when paired with the strings, but the beats flip the song 180. What a great ballad. I'm so glad she got rid of the "shitty" line. Ruined the whole song for me. The humming in the second verse is such a beautiful detail, and the chorus is great. Minus a point for the pointless one-word title, but hey! One of the highlights off Rebel Heart. The country pop throwback was a nice surprise, but even more surprising was the sick beat drop  we got. The guitar strums set up the darker song tone nicely, and the deep vocals in the drops are exquisite. We HAVE to talk about the opening of the Confessions Tour. Nothing will beat it. Pure genius. The bass and synth lines on this song are delicious. I'm actually a tad surprised this one made it this far. It's definitely not a fantastic song, but the beat is a good groove. I like her lyrics, a lot of them remind me of my younger brother. Speaking of timeless charm, this is the epitome. I love this song, it's the only song from the first album I could listen to on repeat all day and not get sick of. The claps with the guitar and they lyrics. It's all just a sticky & sweet (#JusticeForCandyShop) concoction of A-grade pop perfection. This one has some interesting production. The slinky synths that change into the strings and steely beats are really well done. I was certain this would be top 50. Let's blame it on it's over-performance in the past few tours. It's smooth R&B beats, it's synths, and it's bittersweet vocal delivery make one of the best of Bedtime Stories. What a heartbreaking ballad. I never saw the original movie it was from, but oh, this is beautiful. Another reason @@devilpray is my favorite. The closes thing to a ballad we get on COADF, and a fantastic one at that. The synths are SO good, and the beat is a good one to dance to. I love the lyrics, and the performance on tour was so beautiful. No true Madonna doesn't like this song. Everyone knows this song. It has become a slow dance staple, and for good reason. I personally love the instrumentation, and the lyrics are surprisingly good. Everyone, if we try really hard, we can get @@Fighter to ban @alibaba. Giving a masterpiece like this a 4 is worthy of exile. For real, the lyrics are so abstract, the instrumental is literally the best one on ROL, and the bagpipe sound adds such a funk to this song. I don't understand why this hasn't gotten performed at least once. It's such an underrated gem and I'm glad it lasted so long. So this one is a really nice "goodbye", and it's a fairly somber song done real sweet. It took me a long time to like this, and I don't even know why. The whole song is such a fun dose of energy, perfect for Austin Powers, tbh. I got distracted writing this by the video. I love trip-hop, one of my favorite genres. I also love the verses in this song. It has this feminine production, but real aggressive delivery, with the contradictions working really well. I sometimes forget about this song, but when I remember it, it gets looped for hours. I know at least two of you wish the Avicii version had stayed, but I personally don't think the drop agreed with the lyrical subject as a whole. The album version supplies a much darker, sullen, and overall beautiful approach. The organ is just chilling, and the vocals of the chorus really stand out in the album version. The most interesting cut from MDNA, given it's appearance on this list twice. The lyrics are pretty solid, I especially love the "Benjamin" one. Madonna now has only two songs left in the running. Will either make it to Top 50? I think my favorite part of this song is the bridge and the twinkle effect. I've always been consistently impressed with this song's flexibility. No matter what section of the tour it's on, it has been well remixed and fit in perfectly. What a sadly gorgeous song. I think this duet with Antonio (I think that's who it is) is just so painful, in a good way. Madonna's voice is at it's best, and the lyrics are some of the saddest I've heard. The BEST song on Hard Candy, without a doubt. The synths in the chorus have been reused numerous times for a good reason. The "Get Stupid" bridge is my favorite part, but the whole song is just go-go-go, and I love it. Alright, I want to start with the production. More straight-up electronica than folk, I really love it actually. The beat pumps are just BAM! Now to Madonna. The lyrics are ok until the rap comes. Then they border on silly, but that's fine. It's just her voice in the verses. It's SO high, it grates on obnoxious, just a tad. There's that round! I'm a little intrigued by the results. Not what I was expecting. Quite an interesting turn of events. Discuss below.
 

To everyone that gave X-Static Process less than a 10, sit down and reevaluate every life choice that lead you up to that moment.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I used to have a VHS video bootleg of Blond Ambition opening night, the whole show (this was back in the late 90s)... and I remember that the costumes were 100% normal Blond Ambition clothes, and she did not change anything due to the rain. She didn't wear the black rain jacket or the leggings, just her usual costumes. I was obsessed with the BA tour in those days, and I would've noticed immediately if anything was different!  After "Causing A Commotion," she stayed onstage and slid around in the puddles as if she was ice skating, and said something like, "I bet you guys didn't know you were going to an ice capades show." Guys kept coming onstage to wipe up the floor. She didn't do any costume change before "Where's The Party," so my guess is that the "Where's The Party" footage posted above, and the black-and-white "Express Yourself" scene from Truth or Dare, comes from a different night entirely (maybe the second night).
 
They used misleading editing like that a few times in the movie. For example, in the full-color scene of "Express Yourself," the camera pulls away and you hear Madonna's voice-over saying to the crowd, "Alright, America!"-- even though the footage was shot in Paris. I think they deliberately chose to show the night in Japan where she wore rain clothes to play up the drama of it. She says something like, "I couldn't wait to get back to America to do the show the way it was meant to be." This implies that all the Japanese shows had to be altered due to the rain, which isn't true. It wasn't raining during the Yokohama pro-shot show, and they wore the usual BA costumes. The only difference on that night was that they didn't use the curtain that usually comes down during "Like a Virgin," and "Sooner or Later"-- I'm not sure why that was, but you can actually see the next stage scenes being set up behind Madonna during those songs.
