missberic got a reaction from DoneGone in MADONNA AND WARNER MUSIC GROUP ANNOUNCE MILESTONE, CAREER-SPANNING PARTNERSHIP!!
Starting with the 7'' Remix:
- cowbell at 00:17 that will come up almost the whole time
- echo of the instruments at 00:27 + an extra drum sound on the background at 00:29
- there's a not-so-loud "tan tan tan tan tan..." sound after "fool of me" at 00:36 that will happen after each line of both the verses and the pre-chorus
- "mind (mind)" echo at 01:27, 01:42, 03:02 and 03:18
The video uses the single Edit:
- no cowbell, echoing of instruments or extra drum sound at the beggining or throughout the song
- the "tan tan tan tan tan..." sound here is way louder then on the 7'' Remix, but it only comes up at 00:49 for the first pre-chorus (at "playing with my heart") and then returns for the second verse and pre-chorus at 02:14
- no "mind (mind)" echo
Those are the main differences between each other and from the album version, aside from the obvious absense of the "keep on pushing me baby..." part after the chorus.
I personally love the album version of Borderline and couldn't care less about the high hat (though I admit it is distracting having it only on one side) but on a daily basis I tend to listen to the single Edit more. The 7'' Remix is just all over the place.

missberic got a reaction from Roland Barthes in Immaculate Collection in Dolby Atmos!
My god, YES. I can't fathom why would they butcher the best part of the song, the final edit is so rushed it doesn't even make sense.
And I also hate how they cut OYH short at the end, there was no need for that.
But I've never had a problem with the omissions on IC. They were right on choosing the ones that would stand the test of time.

Wait, I know that sounded hypocritical but I do feel like the Timbaland + JT collab is on another level of outdated-ness and unless they are able to revamp it and give it a new sound I don't see it working live anymore. The 80s hits can and have been reinvented before so I think they are good to go. But this is just me talking out of my judgemental ass so who knows

I'm so glad they went with that version and not the Bush ending! Don't get why a lot of people are obssessed with that cut, it's much less provocative and mesmerizing.

I'm glad we got the video version of Open Your Heart on FEL, but I really wanted the 7'' Remix to be available - although the early fade bugs the hell out of me.

Sorry to inform but the one twisting the truth and being corrected twice on this thread was you. And album physical sales don't count for BB's Hot 100. There's a third correction for your list.

Just 4, actually. And the different physical releases had nothing to do with all the songs occupying the whole top 10 of BB's Hot 100, that's digital alone, 1 version per track. The instrumentals came way after.

I'd pick Crazy For You, Rain and Cherish. A mash up of those three wouldn't be a bad idea tbh.

God, no. Seeing how this idea turned out before with Mariah's Butterfly Tour and Beyoncé's I Am Tour, I honestly hope Madonna never does it. Editing is already bad enough with one city shots.

Can we go back to debating if she'll open the show with Nothing Really Matters yet?

missberic got a reaction from Levon in BILLBOARD: ‘Maybe We’re Wrong’: When Madonna Got Cold Feet Over Her ‘American Life’ Video
I can't with RH stans who feel like they are on some superior intellectual level because they get a concept the rest of us don't or care about amazing rhymes like "oh my god you're so hot" that you won't find on MDNA or MX
