Who knows if is was her intention to consider it an album, no one really.  With so much going on - BAT / Dick Tracy it was not promoted as a stand alone album but it could have been.  I remember when it was released, people here were buying it as an album, not a soundtrack.  We have the "vogue" single to thank for that.  I get argued into the ground when I say that I'm Breathless is just as much as an album as the first 4 albums. As said above, the cover does indicate it was "inspired by the film".  That can be said of any of her albums, they were inspired by something or other. It will always be one of my favs. Aside from Evita, her voice was really "outside the box". Even when I play it for non-fans, they are amazed that it is Madonna

IMO it's a Madonna album, songs inspired in Dick Tracy.

But that's what I've been thinking: what if she did want those songs in the movie, submitted them, got rejected, so her way to releasing them was by making I'm Breathless? 

The jacket the girl was wearing can easily be found on ebay, with prices ranging from 50 to 350 dollars. I got mine 6 years ago.

While it’s nice to have collectibles, and if you have money that’s fantastic. I’ve wanted one for so long. I was gonna try and attempt a replica. I have the logo and edited out the background imaging, so I might get a t-shirt company to embroider it for me. I’m making a black T-shirt with the tour logo on front, and tour city stops on the back

off topic but it still amazes me how Like a Prayer has nothing to do with talking to God for comfort or answered prayer at all yet she uses it in times of seriousness. Fans sway and worship to it like it is actually spiritual.  Cracks me up.  When that gospel choir recorded their section of that song I am sure they had no clue its actual meaning ,,, probably mistook some of the lyrics for the hymn "What A Friend We Have In Jesus ... take it to the Lord in prayer". lol
