eXtremeOccident got a reaction from 8-tee's in No hating but...what happened to Madonna after 2007?
The post-2006 mega-stans seem to often use the argument that her divorce and Hard Candy-onwards was just Madonna returning to form, since her English Housewife era was the "restrained and unhappy" Madonna.
To those fans I'd like to ask -- If that's the case, let's say she didn't meet Guy Ritchie? Where would her career have gone?
I've also noticed a substantial difference in how she used to perform -- She seems so much less confident nowadays. She used to absolutely nail the facial expressions, the confidence, and rhythm. Confessions is the type of show I would have predicted she'd still be able to put on nowadays. It was mostly posing, lots of walking, and the occasional dance break, much like Madame X today. The difference is that she's missing the production, the flow / storyline, innovative mixes, creative team, and overall "X Factor" that she once had on stage. I can't remember what other member it was here (or maybe another forum), but to the person who said "I still love her but no longer feel that same starstruck, larger than life feeling seeing her", I agree. There's something just....different about her as a star nowadays. Almost like the mystique is all gone.
Part of what defined Madonna as this larger than life star is that she was untouchable and bold, even in the darkest of times. Maybe the divorce was what she felt was her first real "failure" in her life, causing her to stumble and lose that perfect image along the way that so much of the General Public / fans used to adore? Dare I say she became human to a lot of us?

It would be great if she resurrects that allegedly lost act and rehearses between USA and premieres in Mexico, keeps rehearsing between Mex and Rio.
Not gonna happen though we know it’s a 2 hours show

I’m going to say what we all want to say but are to “above it all” to say
This Copacabana show shits over Taytay and Beyoncés stadium tour, it’s a much grander experience and it’s going to get millions in publicity.
Im not undermining other artists or want to start a Stan wars but it feels AMAZINGLY GOOD 🤣

Exactly! She has one shot to get it right. Whatever happens, it will be broadcasted as is. While I am sure she will be nervous and in a chaotic state to make sure she's on point, I believe she will slay it, knowing this is her only shot for the world to see it unfold. And if she messes up, so what? No concert is perfect. And when you have a zillion recordings to compare it to, it's only that much easier to point out the mistakes and blunders. At the end of the day, no one attending will care and I personally am looking forward to the broadcast! She''ll be fine!

The Celebration Tour opener is epic in just how different it is from other Madonna openers...I didn't expect her to to come on stage that quickly after Bob on opening night, but it works so well. It's definitely in the Top 3-4....never saw Reinvention live, so can't compare that, but I think it's better than Confessions, not quite on par with MDNA (best concert entrance of all time).

Originally I thought the Celebration Tour opening was bland but seeing it again and seeing it in person it is definitely in the top 4. The Blond Ambition opener is somewhere in there too.

No cell phones nor cameras allowed. People will receive prison dances most likely.

Ugh yes! Also hoping she does This Used to Be My Playground, One More Chance, I'm So Stupid, and The Power of Goodbye! Amazing setlist for this once-in-a-lifetime beach performance!

I tried making a high quality live version using the instrumental from AndyMad's studio version by adding live vocals, the audience and some effects.

LOVE this idea. I’d add a couple more upbeat songs between Ray of Light and Rain to extend the section as a proper last section, and this would make a great addition.
Rain would make a fantastic finale to the show if it was the full version and it rained down pyro from the stage at the end or something. It needs beefed up a bit from a staging perspective to be a bit more dramatic, but it works as a closing song, especially given the unconventional approach to the rest of the show.

I theorized early in this thread that I think the last section is supposed to be the far distant future and Rain symbolizes Madonna's passing at the end when the black cloaked figure takes her. Then the LAV interlude is supposed to be a sort of in memoriam type thing.
But I agree that the last section needs like 1 more song after Ray of Light but before Rain. Keeping with the theme I think she's trying to convey here, maybe a shortened version of Drowned World or maybe to keep with the watery symbolism Wash All Over Me (Avicii's demo) which is dancey and could blend well into Rain.
I also think it would've been cool if during Rain, she covered the whole arena in vivid blue lights instead of the normal spotlight which would be cheaper than water.

Let's leave personal conversations that have nothing to do with the topic in private messages.
And I'm pretty sure I didn't need to be tagged in this.

The problem is that the narrative kinda falls apart after this part in the setlist at least that’s how I felt when I saw it live.

*Screens introduce us to the 90s*, Erotica - Madonna is fighting back against those who say she couldn't be overtly sexual in the early 90s
Justify My Love - a continuation of that theme
{now this is my own interpretation} Hung Up - Madonna is seeking someone to have a child with because her biological clock is ticking at this point in her career
Bad Girl - she's sorry for hurting lovers / being "bad"
Vogue - she finds new life in the gay scene of the 90s
Human Nature - she's not sorry for being herself
Crazy for You - she's crazy about that inner devil inside of her
The Beast Within - this is about pregnancy and giving birth to something new; she got pregnant from the last section
Die Another Day - her career rebounds after the sex backlash
Don't Tell Me - she won't stop her career
Mother & Father - she reflects on her mother and now that she's a mom
I Will Survive - continuing the theme of survival in her career
La Isla Bonita - she's inspired by Latino culture while trying for the role of Evita
Don't Cry for Me Argentina - she finally lands the role of Evita which changes her career
Bedtime Story - she finds a new awakening in dance music (we're at about the late 90s / early 2000s of her career thematically)
Ray of Light - she finds spirtuality
Rain - after all the sorrow that has happened in her life / career she has finally rebounded and can enjoy the sun
Like a Virgin - its just a silhouette of her without showing her face because if you recall during Holiday, they didn't even know her name, she was a nobody. Now you don't even need to say her name, she has achieved fame as the Queen of Pop, next to the King of Pop. Since the King has died, in royalty, the Queen now takes over
Bitch I'm Madonna - basically she's Madonna and there's no one else like her

What a difference a (nearly) sold out crowd and a 10:15 start time made last night. WOW. The energy was wild last night. Favorite show of the ones I've seen thus far (London opening night, Brooklyn nights 1 & 2, DC nights 1 & 2).
Also, for anyone who only has close up seats -- It makes a huge difference seeing this show from afar. I was in a suite last night facing the side of the stage and it was a whole new experience. There are so many incredible details that can only be taken in from further away.
