I’m not trying to be negative, but it seems like people on the forum have been saying they think these boxsets are coming soon and nothing materialises. These sorts of posts get people’s hopes up and then are dashed like when today they announce a colour vinyl to celebrate 35 years of Like a Prayer. If they were serious about doing them they would have released one by now, or put a pre order out for Like a Virgin 40. They did nothing for the first milestone on the debut last year and I now can’t see anything “big” being released for any other anniversaries. Like I say, if they were going to release them, we would have had a brand new remaster for Like a Prayer 35. In my opinion.

With all due respect, unless you have something to back up your claims at this point,  can we stop the dangling of the carrot posts please. It is just going to cause frustration for people.

You know what I find most frustrating about it, M has never reissued her work properly. We’ve never had a boxset that contains an album, remixes, b sides and a remastered DVD/Blu-ray of the tour. It’s a crime that the Virgin Tour and Blond Ambition have never been reissued with a brand spanking new remaster. To say she’s the Queen of Pop and has had so many groundbreaking albums and live shows, her and her team seem to have zero interest in celebrating them. It baffles me.

Keep us up to date, but try not to keep hounding them or they will stop responding to you.  It's a matter of picking your battles.  The point is; you want to keep the communication line open, not become a nuisance to them.

Love your post.  The only push back I'm going for is, what I put in bold.  I don't think that was a "shiift".  I think that was part of the plan all along. If any shift has been made is to these "Silver Vinyl" re-issues from the "expanded re-issues".  The difference though is, "Silver Vinyl" is only servicing collectors or those of us who might be adding to our vinyl collection just for fun.  I don't mind the Silver Vinyl release, but I'm just bothered that it seems to be the substitution of what could have been. Not only that, it's just one format that doesn't necessarily appeal to all fans.  Some people don't care about vinyls or the multiple colors.  That I can understnad.  On the other hand, I am not going to call it ridiculous because we all know Vinyls (colored ones specifically) have been seeing a huge resurgence. In fact, they may make more money from this because we all know that anything bigger would cost an unbelievable amount of money that some fans can't afford. Still, I think many fans are looking for more updated options especially on the physical formats. We are wanting more than just what is already out there.  Sure, a colored vinyl is a nice item for some collectors, and even those of us complaining will still snatch it up, but it's not equally appealing to something that might be more expansive and include something more and different than just the standard content of the tracks that the Silver Vinyl is offering.
As for the digital/streaming adds, I'm thinking their main goal is to make available what was commercially released physically.  I think the timing is deliberate to keep that format continually updating, rather just throw everything out there at once. I'm not bothered by what some are saying "a slow pace" because I know eventually the main commercial releases will eventually come.  I think the few times they threw out some extra mixes/edits, etc. weren't something they planned to do for every digital/streaming release. Yes, the strategy is a bit wild, but that format is shaping up quite nicely, just from a casual or non-fan perspective.  Most of us hard core fans will nit pick and find all the errors, but it's still great to see that her digital/streaming catalog getting updated, even if it's at a snail's pace.

All of the releases so far have mentioned anniversaries!

WTG Super Club mix RSD, was to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Who’s That Girl and Causing a Commotion.

Erotica picture disc was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Erotica.

Everybody RSD 12” was to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Everybody.

American Life mix show was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of American Life.

Finally Enough Love was to celebrate her 50 number ones.

Her digital singles have been all been released on their respective anniversaries.
So for you to ask who mentioned anniversaries, Madonna, Rhino and Warner did and have. That’s what the whole deal is about! Her 40th anniversary!

And just to preface the rest of your comment about her illness etc..this is a post that @Prayerposted a few pages back that sums up that situation perfectly.
“I don't think that's the case. The anniversary was July 2023, if anything was planned it would have been announced and ready to go with pre-orders at least two months previous to that. Even if it was planned for later, it would have come in the Fall, vinyl pressings take months in advance and they're not wasted, justdelayed (that's what actually happened with the "Madame X Tour" triple vinyl, they just delayed it for some weeks).
There was nothing coming for "Madonna 40", simple as that.”
Again, I’m not trying to be negative, I’m just being realistic. Plans for these sets have clearly changed. If they were going to release these sets, in my opinion, we would have had at least one by now. It’s been three years since the press release. Why bother putting out a silver vinyl of Like a Prayer for its 35th anniversary when they could release a super deluxe set with a brand new remaster and make a hell of a lot more money and please the fans at the same time.
In my opinion, the focus has now shifted to getting the maxi singles on streaming/digital. Even those have now lapsed in quality control in terms of promo mixes and the correct remixes being added, but that’s another story. Rant over. Phew! Much love ❤️

I think our last chance is having something announced on her birthday this year, for a Fall release. "Like A Virgin 40" would make perfect sense.
But I kinda gave up last year when they did nothing for "Madonna 40", so whatever comes - if it comes - it'll be OK.

I agree, sadly. If you read the press release from Rhino about the Like a Prayer Silver Vinyl release, I think it’s quite telling….
“Madonna is reissuing LIKE A PRAYER this summer to celebrate the acclaimed album’s 35th anniversary. Pressed on opaque silver vinyl, it will be the second release from the Silver Collection, a series of limited-edition vinyl reissues celebrating 40 years of Madonna’s illustrious career. The Silver Collection debuted last year with True Blueand will continue to spotlight other Madonna albums in the coming months.”
I think the fact that it states “limited edition vinyl reissues celebrating her 40 years and there will be more silver vinyls to come”…….says to me this is all we’re getting and maybe some exclusive merchandise on her website. If we were getting boxsets, they wouldn’t bother with this release, they would release a vinyl with a full 2024 remaster to celebrate 35 years of the album. I’m guessing Like a Virgin will be the next silver vinyl in time for the 40th anniversary.

As you both know, I've been one member here who has tried to remain positive something was coming from these "Deluxe Expansive Re-Issues".   Many have told me to "shut up" and/or laughed at me or tried to shit on anything I said about it.  So this is far from me being negative.  And like @RyanUK and some pointed out, the fact this press statement mentions the "40th Anniversary" of her career and consider this a "re-issue" (which it is), it makes me wonder if they decided to scale it down with these sort of releases instead.  But no one here was expecting this is what the meant.  Maybe it's not what they meant?  Maybe something else is coming, but I am tired of defending this.  In no way, I want to come off like some 'negative Nancy', but I really was hoping something was coming from this, other than this.
As for the "Insidethegroove" source. That guy is full of himself.  I wouldn't put too much faith in what he says.
If something more comes, great!  But I'm starting to think nothing is coming as "Expanded Re-issues".

Oh I am sure it does count.  It's just like most others here, I'm beginning to think these "silver editions" are the direction they decided to go with it instead.  I hope to be wrong, but like everyone else, it's exhausting to keep defending and thinking these "expanded editions" are actually coming.  And as you know I was a staunch defender of these coming.  Beginning to lose hope!

My guess, is what fans consider important landmarks in her career, aren't considered the same outlined in this whole deal with Warner.  I think the re-issues are still planned but were just one of MANY things within this deal which some fans only latched onto. Hence, the assumption the Warner deal is no longer active. Like said before, I doubt LAV 40 will go by with nothing, but it may not be what many of us hoped, especially regarding the "re-issues".  Like you said, those take time and I'll keep repeating the actual official statement where they said this was a MULTI-YEAR deal.  No specific time was outlined for the re-issues and the only specific time that was actually outlined was that by 2025 Warner would start representing the Interscope albums.
A few possibilities is that LAV 40 (if a deluxe re-issue is planned) is that we will soon hear about pre-orders or they may not start until around November on the actual anniversary of the release.  And it's not too far fetched that they may not start it until the new year as we've seen other artists have re-issues be offered for a specific anniversary months after.

Absolutely. These things take time to make. It can take months to source the material, then have it remastered, complete the linar notes, approve artwork. I think a lot of us have thought that the reissues would come with the anniversary dates, which is clearly not the route they are taking. I prefer it this way. I would rather it be a celebration of the album instead of it being a “40th anniversary edition”. Plus with anniversary editions, you find the fan base then expect a new release for the next anniversary date. Like @Celebrationmentioned, it has been three years since the press release. They have probably been working on multiple releases in this time. This is a good sign that they are not rushing them. They are taking the time to do it properly. I agree the waiting is agonising at this point, but I think they will be worth the wait.

Well going by that logic, I would assume we won’t be getting anything in the way of reissues full stop then. If they aren’t going to celebrate her 40th anniversary with anything special apart from the tour, they aren’t going to start now.
