Hi guys!
Now that we are officially in a Madonna drought and also self isolating because of coronavirus I have decided to launch my Madonna YouTube channel. Each week I will be covering a new era in a little 5-10 minute documentary starting with the Madonna era in 1983. So far I have edited a segment for each era in the 80's and it includes everything from albums, tours, films etc. There are 22 segments for the 80's in total and of course I hope to do the rest in time. The idea of this page is to share her history with casual and new fans and also of course for us long term fans to enjoy a trip down memory lane. It will feature lots of interviews, rare clips, interviews with other people involved in her projects etc. I hope you all enjoy it! And thank you to everyone on this forum who have shared videos over the years as a lot of the content has come from here and I couldn't have done it without you. Sorry that I probably can't credit you all individually as that would involve knowing who each video came from and its kind of impossible. But thank you!
Before I launch it I am trying to get more followers and have made a little trailer which covers her entire career in a 1 minute clip. Hope nobody has an anxiety attack watching it!

no. I didn't feel this era at all. To be honest, i was really hyped at the beginning. The first preview she posted was really good, Mirwais coming back had me excited, the concept of the alter ego named Madame X was very interesting, the promotion seemed on point. Then Medellin came and those promo singles weren't good. The album dropped and my first listen was very...confusing. I listened the whole thing non-stop for a week or something and never again.
To me, it's fighting with MDNA for her worst album. The message of the album feels so forced, it probably has her worst lyrics, the abuse of autotune and vocoder to the point you can't understand what is she saying, the sound of the album feels all over the place (which is ironic since RH isn't very cohesive either), the molodies are meh, the singles are bad (except Crave which is an ok song), that annoying babbling-singing she does in some songs, the tragic performances, those horrible interviews that backfired for her strange mood and behavior, the tour... well. The tour problem wasn't her fault.
The only good thing i take from that era are the music videos. She really feeded us with that one.

This is one of the stupidest things I have read on this form in a long time. 
I am not immune compromised so I know that if I catch the virus there is a good chance that I will be fine, but not everything revolves around me. I can still catch the virus and spread it to other people. Who cares if grampa dies? Or the neighbour's 10 year-old kid with cancer? As long as I can go out and be "free".

Not at all. It was and still is a feel good explosion of music and joy with amazing production and makes you dance. The partnership of M and Stuart was one of the best she has done for me, he seemed to keep her grounded and the result was more relatable than her more political and self reflective output. I love all sides of M but this was perfect at the time.

It's impossible to overrate this album, era and tour  - everything about it was perfect. 

I don't think it's an overrated album. Judging from the music only, it's bop after bop after bop. Of course not every song is perfect, her bridges can get too repetitive ( I can make it alone, I heard it all before, so slowly so slowly) but in the sense of a dance record I don't think it gets better than that. Just like you, I didn't get to experience the era and I first listened to it six years after it came out but it does things to my body that very few albums can. Even when the sound is cold, her voice makes it thaw out and makes you feel things. You want to fall in love, make a fool of yourself for one night and it won't matter, get laid, dump someone, make life changing decisions. Maybe those things don't interest you in the way she projects them so maybe this album isn't for you.
If you ask me, her most overrated album is either Like A Virgin or Like A Prayer. Like a Virgin sold way too much for such a weak album in my opinion and Like A Prayer is absolutely gorgeous, but calling it her absolute best might be an exaggeration. Just music wise of course and just my opinion. Her balls were heavier when she released certain albums and that makes them the iconic pieces they are, overrated or not.

See, I thought MDNA was awful. Awful hair, awful set list, awful versions of classics, awful vocals, awful album.
Rebel Heart was inexplicably brilliant for me.
 

M wanted to create this mysterious "Spy" persona and build the era around her. Madame X was loved by the fanbase as expected but the gp didn't connect with her at all. There's great music on the album, but it got totally overlooked. Meanwhile the media is only interested her dating the 25yo dancer
