I finally finished my edit of the RHT. It took 48 hours to render but the file weighed 70 GB so it took another two days to compress it.
I added Love Don't Live Here Anymore, extended the Messiah part, and put Take A Bow before the Detroit mini-documentary. And finally "Like A Prayer" (mixed with the Stockholm speech and the Blu-Ray version), after Holiday and before the credits, like a bonus track. I think it looks good there and reminds to the inicial concept of the show, on the other hand, it was difficult and extended too much the spanish section to put it next to Take A Bow.
In the same way I edited the audio to put more live vocals on some parts (especially in Like A Virgin, I try to remove most of the S&S backing vocals).
It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.

So I took the thread most traveled by and I barely made it out alive...

I meant about editing differences, I think people were perceiving it better because they were re-discovering it. Those people clearly didn't do a comparison when saying they used different shots and effects lol. If some people prefer the new contrast then that's a matter of preference.

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone who can do a split screen comparison between the SHOWTIME broadcast and the DVD version of RHT? It'll be cool to see the changes. :3

Ok then.

I do not know how to do the side to side comparison for you (wish I was that tech savy lol) but there has indeed been changes made from the Showtime version. This is what I've noticed, but there could be more: 
 
The audio track has been changed. They added much more of her live vocals, presumably from the Sydney show, so the audio track does now match up to the visual in most places. Her vocals are still edited in some places, mostly on the older songs, but overall, it's much less studio sounding.  The visual presentation has been altered. There are still filters applied throughout, but they aren't as strong and overbearing. I'm sure you noticed on the Showtime presentation that sometimes the contrast on the picture made certain things blurry. Well, that has been corrected. It is still bright, but it is blended much better so things don't get washed out. They slightly tweaked some of the over zealous editing. It's still a tad chaotic in spots, but they did slow down some of the camera movements. They still use a lot of the backdrop overlays, but it is much easier to see what she is doing on stage behind them. They have also slightly toned down some of the more questionable visual oddities. They're still present but they aren't as jarring and flow much better.  The big one is that they made it look much clearer. It isn't difficult to see what's going on as it was in the Showtime edit. They've corrected some of the visual imperfections and made the whole thing look much smoother.  

How do you put a show like this together? Where do you get the ideas?
Everything's based around my song choice. So first, I go through my catalogue of songs with my band and I start working on things that excite me and inspire me in the moment. Some songs I'm sick of doing and I don't want to do them. Other songs I say, "No, I did that on the last tour, I don't want to do it again."
 

 
So I try to rotate things and I also try to reflect my current mood and what I've been feeling, and what's been inspiring me artistically or filmically, politically, philosophically. I try to put songs together in groups that have thematic connection, and then I try to tell a story. And then I do the visuals. It's quite a process.
 
What are the songs you don't want to do again?
Well, I tend to not want to do the songs I did on the tour before. That's what I mean. So if I did Material Girl on the tour before, or Express Yourself on the tour before, then I'll say, "OK, I did that for 88 shows. I can't do it again."

I am so sad we don't have it our the bluray. This is one of my favorite songs. At least, they should have put the bonus on itunes for everybody or something, I would have buy it !

tour version of BIM is better

Meh the audio doesnt ruin it for me, most non hardcore fans wont even notice these things, we just clock everything

I'm not sure what was worse about Borderline from S&S, having heard her real vocals from that show live, or hearing the fake asf vocals from the DVD. All because she was really straining her voice to sing it outside of her vocal range I guess. Choices

I know the S&S Tour audio is fake af but I kind of love it lmao 

Totally and the worst offending tour recording so far is Sticky & Sweet. She ends up doing her best Mr. Roboto impression, It looks way more off when you watch it with the visuals though lol. MDNA is such a weird mix it's like both the music and vocals are low but low at different amounts - notbhing sounds great til the interludes.
 

True. It's a fact that S&S uses her rehearsals vocals instead of tuning hr live vocals so it's not really authentic to hear and I don't quite understand why she did her impression of Mr. Roboto. XD
 
MDNA was good but the overly processed vocals and the fake crowd was too much to bear. I started to wonder what was in the head of the people behind the EPIX special. I wonder if someone here edited the live audio with little or no fake crowd cheers. 
 
RHT was a big improvement but I would have been better if they raised her live vocals up or remove the studio vocals singing along with her but hey, it's enjoyable and her voice sounds authentic and real from start to finish. <3
