  1. I absolutely love the way she delivers "you are per-fect just the way that you are", it's the one part of the song I like.
  2. My opinion in parenthesis, though, least favorite =/= dislike... most of the times Madonna: Everybody (like it) Like a Virgin: Angel (but if Gambler had been an album track, that'd be it, at least I enjoy the Dance Mix for Angel) True Blue: True Blue (but I like the Color Mix, the remix edit and I LOVE the RHT acoustic version) Like a Prayer: Dear Jessie (but I like that alternate mix version that goes with the supposed demo instrumental) Erotica: Bye Bye Baby (but I love it) Bedtime Stories: Take a Bow Ray of Light: The Power of Good-Bye (I kinda dig Fabien's Good God Mix) Music: Music (is my least favorite song of the three but I do love the numerous re-inventions it's had over the years and I like the video sans Baron Cohen) American Life: American Life (but I love it) Confessions on a Dance Floor: Sorry (but I love it) Hard Candy: Miles Away (but I like it. The single release was kinda botched, though, and I - only - like the Johnny Vicious Warehouse Mix off the bunch released) MDNA: Give Me All Your Luvin' (TO BE FAIR... I do have fun with the MDNA Tour remix/performance and wish she'd leak the vocal Just Blaze Remix already) Rebel Heart: Bitch I'm Madonna (liked the Celebration Tour performance, tho, could've done without the Nicki rap in it) Madame X: Crave (I enjoy the Swae Lee-less edit better and I hate pretty much every official remix this song got but I love M in the video even if I would've given its budget to I Rise)
  3. I think the problem with the singles from the Interscope era is that many of them sound like they were from their inception made to sound as commercial as possible, thus a lot of fans don't like how generic and pandering they sound (GMAYL & BIM) but they didn't leave enough of an impression on the general public to get them buying as much as Interscope and M wanted (BIM charted at all in the Hot 100 because it went viral with kids on social). Still, let's not forget that GMAYL charted really high outside the United States AND even in the US the Super Bowl promo managed to get it to #10 at a time when no single from Madonna was a guaranteed top 10 in the country anymore. So it's not like they were completely clueless there, I just wish they'd known better enough to course-correct after the meh response GMAYL got from fans and critics. Well, actually I wish they had not released GMAYL as a single at all and went with GGW. I know that song doesn't re-invent the wheel either and is as generic as fuck but at least, unlike GMAYL, it's fun.
  4. To be fair, I don't think M releases anything she doesn't want to (*points broadly at everything reissues*) but I definitely agree that it had bad singles although Turn Up the Radio should've remained as club promo single for the summer and you can pry the Girl Gone Wild (uncensored) music video from my cold dead fingers. (I also think Gang Bang should've been a single but the consensus seems to be it wasn't commercial enough, so what do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
  5. My favorite edits of Madonna songs are Ray of Light and Get Together, edited by DJ Leath. E. Rf4c3. Perfectly maintaining the pacing of the original versions and enhancing them by "trimming the fat" with all of those unnecessary lyrics/instrumentals yet flawlessly representing their original spirit.
  6. They'd probably just digitize It's That Girl from whatever cassette tape they have laying around the archives, boost the volume up, do nothing else and call it a gift.
  7. Sorry, but what's the reason behind them not sounding distorted on vinyl?
  8. I don't know much of anything about music mastering and compression and I have a bad ear for this stuff so keep that in mind but: FEL I don't mind because it's meant to be loud music to play at the club/orgies but the Everybody and Gambler remasters are so artificially loud and distorted that they hurt my ears (seriously, the Everybody ones in particular make the Celebration version sound demure), plus they added the fade to Gambler 5 seconds earlier than they should for some reason...? I think I might need to go back and comprehensively compare some of the original files that I have with the streaming remasters playing close attention this time.
  9. Okay, I must have never heard the original pressing before because this sticks out like a sore thumb. I really can't understand why they didn't simple use the radio edit instead of trying to recreate it, this is weird.
  10. Since we're discussing Celebration... what were the mistakes made on EY and Erotica? I think because I'm always listening to music while doing something else I have a bad ear for this typer of errors, so I only ever really noticed the pops in Music.
  11. yeah, but the remixes were sent out to clubs and it got to #1, didn't it? i mean, it's on the billboard site and everything or are you speaking only about these two remixes in question that weren't released stateside at all?
  12. I don't mind her doing the Frozen remix for the Tik Tok twinks. I just wish she doesn't do the same songs she does all the time when she has like 30 gay anthems in her catalogue. If I'm allowed to dream, I'd like her to do something like: - Frozen (Remix, full version) - Deeper and Deeper - Open Your Heart - Into the Groove - Live to Tell or Ghosttown (with an M speech before considering how everything's gone to hell again LGBTQ+ rights-wise) - Hung Up (the thing last year didn't count) A short set because I don't expect her to put on a full MDNA Tour-scale production for a free event.
  13. love the art for these, love the project, love the into the groove remaster... am a little confused as to why she didn't include all the songs that made up the 50 number ones this album based off but okay
