I still love him today but I’m also very much into Janet, Whitney, Britney, Björk, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Ariana, Mariah, Justin Timberlake, Radiohead, Beck, Sufjan Stevens, Daft Punk, PJ Harvey, Billie Eilish and many more. But Madonna will always be my number one.

No hate, but have you seen her SoMe stories the last couple of months?
90% of her posts are related to things happening in the whole - especially the issue regarding police brutality. Madonna has been one of the most vocal white celebrities when it comes to Black Lives Matters. She’s a huge ally. I think she doesn’t get enough credit for this. Instead the media focuses on a couple of ill advised covid-19 posts. 
The woman can celebrate her birthday - it’s not like she has ignored the problems of the world. On the contrary.

The 90s had two of her best albums, Erotica and ROL, an award-winning movie with a soundtrack and aesthetic that is a huge change of style for her, and some of her best looks, sounds and most positively drastic changes, not to mention SEX book.
The 00s has Music, American Life and COADF, three completely different world that are equally outstanding, each in their own right, it also has some of her best tours, music videos and aesthetics and the X-Staruc Process book.

I listen to almost anything that happens to appeal to my ears. Recently I’ve been much more into instrumental and experimental music, new age and electro/dreamy music, ambient music and Artpop, and I listen to movie and video game soundtracks a lot more than chart music. Madonna is the only one that I follow her career closely and get her merchandise..etc.

That’s the beauty of a forum! We all get to express our opinions and share our experiences at the risk of being disagreed with or disapproved of! If you see nothing of import in my posts, don’t respond to them! I’m sorry that you find my posts arrogant and vapid, but also accept that I’m not everyone’s cup of tea. And that’s just fine by me! I’m here for Madonna! May she forever irritate the crap out of an increasing majority! That’s always been her thing after all.

Honestly...please explain what I have written that would merit being banned? There is no personal insult in anything I ever write, which cannot be said for those that take issue with my self-expression. You may disagree with my perspective, but I actively contribute ideas for the purpose of discussion, which is what the forum is for. If that is cause for being reprimanded or banned, then by all means let that happen. I’ve been through so many Madonna forums over the years where inevitably this type of divisiveness takes hold of the general atmosphere. If my ideas aren’t welcome here, I am perfectly okay with this. I’m not going to be intimidated for defending Madonna’s integrity on a forum dedicated to her. I’ll continue to enjoy Madonna on my own, as I always have, but it would be appreciated if we can just move on, and anyone who finds me arrogant or sycophantic, or whatever other projection anyone wishes to make upon a total stranger, can just ignore me as I do them.

In a time when you're either a "follower" or a "hater" there's very little room for a nuanced discussion. The lack of general public's ability to engage in music and with an artist on a more nuanced way is also why Madame X suffered (I mean, aside from not getting radio airplay). I love that album. I think it's clever, brilliant, edgy and packed with great songs but it's a little bit too much for the 6 second attention span generation (although I'd argue even that could be challenged with certain songs off the album were they given proper airplay). Would I prefer less vocal processing? Yes, but I got over it and enjoy it for what it is. The tour was a magical experience for me despite several cancellations - it was a privilege to see that show. And yes, I would've loved a live drummer but I got over that too.
The relief Gaga's and Kylie's recent returns to straight forward dance pop shows how little is expected of our artists these days - as long as they stay in their lanes, provide the stuff that made them big in the first place, we shall accept them wholeheartedly. It's also displayed in the never-ending Confessions On A Dancefloor nostalgia among Madonna's fans (one of Madonna's weakest albums in my opinion). I love the fact Madonna is not that kind of artist and she does what she wants. I struggle to understand why people can't appreciate and celebrate the fact that here's a woman in her 60s, with almost 4 decades in the business behind, who doesn't conform to what's expected of her, doesn't rely on her legacy and is instead looking forward and still experimenting. That doesn't mean liking everything she does (I sure don't) but perhaps having a bit more perspective and compassion for her. I think others are doing the best they can given the circumstances they are in. I don't know if that's true but I know I feel better when I assume that. 

Pages later, it's safe to say we have come to one simple conclusion. A vast majority of those posting on here don't like Madonna as she is, and think she'd be more appealing (to them) if she just returned to being a one-dimensional marketing ploy solely incorporating the fundamental infrastructure of her Warner Bros. years. 
Either you love Madonna, warts, scars and all, and seek to understand her creative drive in spite of the way she is marketed, sold, exploited and denigrated via tabloidism, or you find yourself at a constant impasse of disagreeable disappointment.
I'd venture as far as to say that the contrarianism of her fanbase is as much to blame for the pervasive negativity surrounding her public image and her dwindling popularity as ageism, sexism and politics. In comparison to what Madonna has done in the last ten years alone, I imagine most of these contrarians are totally underwhelming.
