so I am torn.  But ultimately I'm going to go with my gut.

    So, a few things..

This forum and other forums are actually the best places for these discussions.  There is good and there is bad related to if any of this info should have been revealed and if any of you have bounced around and read other forums or pages you know (separate from the actual demo song descriptions) this is a hotly debated topic.

I have known about these real listens for many weeks now.  No, I have not heard them, but people I know have.

The good-  From a fan perspective its like Christmas morning.  You can start to put the next Madonna album into perspective for yourself.  I get that. (I think that may be the only good I can think of)

The bad- These are demos still.  The track list has not been finalized.  From my knowledge some songs are so good the album will be a smash hit.... but shouldn't that be something you would want to wait for after a track list is set?  There is worry that still some good songs that are not only being described but opinions given, may not make it now onto the album.  The thing is, this wasn't an official industry listening party of the final album.  This is commentary from demos heard over the internet of an unfinished album.  Doesn't this raise any concerns now that this is known?

Hey, I can't knock DrownedMadonna or Madonnarama...  They are doing what they want.  And who knows... this could be some reverse market test that we don't know about and Madonna is completely behind this all, we just don't know.   From what I do know, Madonna knows the reception from Hard Candy and MDNA was that both albums missed a mark and seemed rushed.  She is purposely trying to avoid this.  Madonna is being extremely critical of this release and it is very very important to her.  I just want or rather hope somewhere in our sphere of fandom that we can respect her enough to let her accomplish her goal.

that's all I wanted to say.

Since she has recorded so many tracks...how about a track she releases a track she knows won't make the cut a la Kylie's "Skirt"?

It shouldn't be an issue. They released a clean version of Britney's Work Bitch--which sounds kinda stupid without all the "Bitch" parts. But I agree with groovyguy, they won't play her on the radio anyway. The last time I heard radio play a new Madonna song was 4 Minutes back in 2008, you can bet none of the other singles from Hard Candy got radio play.

On the subject of radio, this is a question I've raised in a Kylie forum that I frequent, is radio even all that relevant anymore? I know that anytime I get in my car I put on my iPod. I have tried out the local radio stations, but basically they play the same 10 songs over and over. Almost anytime I put it on this summer it was playing Fancy or Problem. I don't think it's a viable tool for promotion anymore. Is radio more relevant in larger cities?

Well, I would say that that is evidence enough that she has close ties to Apple, and could very well be co-ordinating a release with them. A marketing campaign tied to the iPhone 6 could be very lucrative.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Diplo may have been a producer on the album, in addition to contributing a few tracks? In which case, even the Avicci tracks might have a Diplo edge.

Do we not consider all the pictures from the studio and other teasers we've received via social media about the upcoming album as promo? In fact I think it's a much more modern approach to promotion than doing the talk show rounds, although we haven't heard any music yet, it's created a lot of buzz and excitement.

Xander got a reaction from groovyguy in VMAs?
I don't think it has anything to do with age. I'm 25 and I can't remember the last time I watched MTV, and come to think of it, I don't know any of my friends that do watch MTV. I have no reason to, all they air nowadays is mindless dribble. As far as awards shows, we live in a time when you don't have to sit through an entire awards show to see the performances you are really interested in, because as soon as it's over it's all over the internet. For instance, I didn't watch the Grammy's this year, but before the show was even over I was able to see the Same Love/Open Your Heart performance online.

We do go through this speculation every year, but not only is this year an anniversary, she is also on the brink of releasing new music. So it's no surprise that some folks are hyped up about it.

And currently, nobody watches the VMAs, so maybe they could use a bit of nostalgia to bring in viewers.

Any event  that is M related or involves M is a treat, whether it be a tribute or her being honored or whatever. Just saying.

Anyway according to DrownedMadonna, MTV has no plans to honor Madonna’s Like a Virgin performance at the VMAs http://drownedmadonna.com/mtv-has-no-plans-to-honor-madonnas-like-a-virgin-performance/20140818

Actually the music network has no plans to honor the milestone at all. It’s what MTV’s Van Toffler told Billboard.

Why do you (anybody) think it is that she continues to feature smoking in photoshoots if she condemns it so? I hardly think that smoking is still seen as seductive as it might have in the 90s and earlier.
